USB mouse power cuting in and out on windows 7?

hi my mates got a problem with his mouse it keeps losing power for a few sec more than a few times a minute, hes updated to the newest drivers that didn't help and hes tried the mouse on another system and it worked with no problems, any ideas or help thanks

Could be the hardware. We see laptops here that gradually lose the USB ports when people are pulling on cables to hard and work the USB slots loose!

Make sure the contacts are clean between the mouse and USB port.

hes try ever port still the same thing could it be the board, if its the board then all usb device will lose power right ill tell him to check but it work fine on a old pc.
