I came across a cheap 6950 with broken fans. I found cheap replacements on eBay but they are 2 pin fans. I think adapting the plug wouldn't be a problem (1 minute of sanding should do the job) but is there any drawback to this? apart from not being able to control them, that is.
The replacement fans use less current than the originals so I don't think I'll overload the VRMs or anything.
