It has been one year since we launched Steam Deck, and in celebration we're offering Steam Deck for 10% off! The discount will last for the duration of the Spring Sale, until March 23rd at 10am Pacific time. The sale applies to all shipping regions, including Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong via Komodo.
Steam Deck wouldn't be such a success without everyone in the community, so we've put together a little celebration video with highlights from Steam Deck's first year, with an emphasis on all of YOU.
We're adding a new feature to Steam Deck today - the ability to customize startup movies for Steam Deck. It's been a while since folks figured out how to get custom startup movies onto Steam Deck, and we've now made it a built in feature. The team has even decided to join in the fun and we've created 20 startup movies of our own
These startup movies are available in the Steam Points Shop - you can check them all out here. You'll be able to set your startup movie in Settings > Customization, and if you're already using your own custom startup movies (in steamui/overrides/movies/), they'll show up in the new UI as well. If you're like us and can't pick just one, we've added a shuffle toggle to randomly pick one on boot. Even better, these movies can be used to customize your Big Picture startup movie on Desktop too.
Lastly, make sure to check out the Spring Sale that's just started. We've created a showcase of the top 100 games played on Steam Deck in the past year, many of which are on sale. It's great to see the wide variety of titles you've all been enjoying on Deck!
