Vega 64 in 2020

Is it worth getting a vega 64 now or wait for rdna2 cards?
the vega is about £200 for the gigabyte oc version.

I'd wait. I have a vega 64 card and basically it is same performance as 5600 XT. 200 pounds is around $244 add 40 bucks and you get brand new 5600 XT. Is it worth it? to pay $40 bucks less for a used card? If you don't need it don't buy anything. Wait for new graphics from NV and AMD. Either way the older cards models will get cheaper and then you can decide if you wanna go new or older model for cheaper.

£200 is a really good price for Vega 64. GTX 1660 is selling that range and its a bit slower.

If your current GPU isn't that bad, maybe you should wait.

At least on ebay the 1660 is cheaper and price starts from $200 1660 Super is more less same price as the Vega64 and I'm talking about brand new 1660 Super.

Vega 64 out of the box is ok. Vega 64 UV+OC is amazing but you need a good power supply.

...because at this point, performance of a Vega 64 with modern drivers is actually a bit faster than the 1080 on average and that gap widens at higher resolutions. That's before you do any undervolting, overclocking, or fiddling with power limits or fan curves. Also, some people (not sure about the OP,) buy AMD for less tangible reasons. I personally don't like supporting a company that makes very questionable business decisions when it comes to OSS. In Linux, that kind of thing matters to me and open source driver support for the Vega 64 is stellar.

hey pal ive got the vega 64 , in its box because I upgraded to 5700xt strix . I only upgraded because I was worried my Reference card would killitself . If you can get a vega 64 with descent cooling
then I would say buy it , because playing at 1440p was no probs for my card

mate i have both cards and you can get the 64 to run well but the 1080 has higher clocks uses far less power and just runs better overall , im no green team fanboy in fact if i was id be AMD all the way.

Good point with the NV vs AMD but I don't think you can buy a brand new Vega64 now. Maybe some leftovers but I'd bet, OP is talking about a used card.
Anyway, I would wait. There is a lot of new stuff coming out and that means previous gen will drop in price for sure.

We're not discussing what You would do for You though bro, a lot forget that.

£200 is a good price ,that card Will play any games that arrives in the next year and a half.

No issues with mine and I game upto 4k single player 2k competitive.

I am waiting for some used Vega 56 now, that the Bitcoin dropped like a hammer. For my budget 64 is too much, but 56 is a sweet spot. I think OP will be more than pleased with 64.

Vega (especially 56) is currently by far best performance per dollar, but you really do need a top notch PSU to run it, especially if you plan on tuning it up to run at 300W+. You'll want really tight ripple suppression so that you have no wasted power against the limit, and low ripple = much better undervolting stability.

I currently have a sapphire nitro rx480 4gb it’s ok but I’m getting the urge to upgrade and a bequiet 750w straight power supply so I should be ok?
It’s b grade stock from overclockers anyone have any experience with this or the gigabyte windforce cooler?

In my experience sapphire nitro and the gigabyte windforce are both good options. Though for vega i think some of the gigabyte card's had issues.

Vega 64 OC/UV is about the same as a 5700 more or less. I'd go for it for 200
