Hello.
Would you be so kind and make some pictures with the messages the system gives you when you try to mine ?
I mean if the BIOS have been edited then for sure it was for mining purposes only.
Another question : where you got this card ? You buy it second hand ?
I also have 4gb cards and i mined very easy with them Raven and RVL.
But i modded myself the BIOS.
Ahh another thing : use GPU-z to save your BIOS into a file and put it here. Let me check something.
Cheers

Since in techpowerup archive there is no Veineda RX550 with elpida memory, i was forced to make it manually.
So what i did was : i downloaded your BIOS and an original one but with another type of memory and i edited your BIOS to meet the original values for it.
Please flash in your card and tell me the result.
Cheers

Here is all bios compatible with that card, just ensure you look at details to affirm elpida memory tables are contained in it.

Look under the heatsink and verify the card infact does have elpida memory

There is no try, only do, ;)
still no official firmware file from any of the veineda and “veinida” ali express dealers. (I’ve mailed three )

is there any diagnostic program around to determine if the card itself is ok ? (Memory and such )
In hive i get smu powerplay firmware failed to load with the firmware it came with.

Hello
I disagree with you @eidairaman1 .
Next time don't buy things that are produced by unknown producer.
For example i personally buy from ali express and i buy ONLY things that are brands.
For example even a video card RX580 Sapphire Pulse i bought from them.
And like on Ebay the transaction is guaranteed or money back.
But if you agree to buy an unknown producer thing, than it is your choice.

Bro, you are right, but we can't put all traders on that platfom on the same line.
For example i bought many products from them and less than 1% were with problems but i solved with the seller.
At least this is my case...i do not make publicity for them :)

I am very happy with the sapphire rx550 i bought from ali
This veineda one is giving me a headache
Just bought another sapphire rx550 2nd hand, works right away in the same riser.
Official (?) veineda gave just a strange reply (i clearly told them i had a rx550 with photos etc )…..
I am not yet ready to give up. Someone must have a veineda rx550 elpida and be willing to upload or email me that bios.

Well, that was unprofessional from them.
How in the world you say to the customer that the product is discontinued ?
Lol, if the product were with warranty then ofc you would have send it back to them?
They are idiots ?
WTF firm is that ?
It is not a matter of the ali express selling channel but instead it is a matter of the producer, they are far away on the field with this attitude :(

And the wrong product … rx560? what assholes
I clearly told them the story about my rx 550 elpida 4gb
But to be fair , this veineda came from ali (according to the seller) but i bought it 2nd hand on marktplaats in amsterdam because the seller thought it was incompatible for his mainboard. That was within one year 22 dec 2020 according to him. I believe this rx 550 game my hive os an incredible la (load avarage) and failed after one night of mining.
good success and happy with the sapphire rx550 today i bought 2nd hand but i am not yet willing to scratch this veineda one off

You're probably dealing with a counterfeit GPU, except they're a bit "honest" about what it is instead of trying to sell it as another product. It's a new trend that's surfacing as the decomissioned ethereum farms in China are being dismantled after their government declared cryptocurrency illegal. The Brazilian market is currently flooded with counterfeit GPUs like these, its manufacturers likely use mining scrap given almost all of these have heavily used ASICs installed. These companies do not hold OEM/AIB partner licenses with either AMD or NVIDIA, in fact, there's no guarantee the card you bought even uses the correct ASIC for the model it's advertised to be. You will only know by disassembling the graphics card and looking up the ASIC P/N engraved in the chip itself.

Currently there's a big kerfuffle happening here in Brazil over these GPUs, as Latin America's largest hardware channel (TecLab) got their hands on a new, sealed Afox-branded RX 580 2048SP (which should not even be sold outside of China mainland region), bought full price from a major, reputable hardware store which came with a discolored, heat battered and scratched ASIC intended for a China-only RX 470 mining SKU, several scattered user reports of also Afox-branded RX 560 and RX 560D GPUs using the RX 460's ASIC currently going on as well. The big deal is that unlike Veineda (which sells on its own Aliexpress store, basically), Afox seems to position itself as an actual established GPU brand, and has even threatened legal action against TecLab for exposing the situation. Ugly business.

Before making any GPU purchase, heavily prefer cards coming from licensed companies:

Good luck!
