You were not using Asus drivers to begin with? :confused:

Listen man other then GPU and south bridge drivers ALWAYS use the mobo mfg. drivers. Why? Because they mod a lot of those chips for a particular mfg. If you go the VIA website they do not recommend you even use the drivers on their own site because of this!

And I quote....

Hmmm. i think that was why it was all acting crappy.

you see, since my mobo is a new model, the time i downloaded the VIA drivers, the ASUS page for my mobo didnt have a Download section. thats why i tried the VIA ones.

heck the new drivers even have the setup app called "Asusetup".

thanks to everyone for posting in this thread. this problem is now solved.

DAMN IT!!! its still There!!!

this time there is the added screw up of this via showing that the front headphone is continuously being connected and disconnected, my headphone stays connected all the time(i only have headphones)

i dont know how it went smoothly for a couple of days, after that its f'd up again??!!

reinstalling after removing with CCleaner didnt fix. This is Win7 x64's fault i think.

just disconnect the front panel header to the case then.

Ya i have a VIA HD audio that i use to and holy crap there crap i have nothing but problems with it constantly cutting off then back on or having to restart the comp to get the sound back there just crap but i still find it better then the creative x-fi i had before

try setting the mobo BIOS setting to AC97 instead of HD audio.

AC97 doesnt support auto detection, so you wont get any disconnect messages.

what antivirus are you using at ur Windows 7? ^^;

(i don't prefer Asus myself they mix out, Realtek, Athero, VIA chips on their boards it's not a good combo...)

but have u tried Windows update to see if it can find a driver it self?

i use to have a 100% CPU usage with my KIS2010 after 12~24hours but not anymore it got fixed by Kaspersky them self ^^

windows update? FAIL!
the driver is automatically installed, but it causes hick ups and shows that the device vanishes sometimes.
