Via makes the Nano, the Nano is blazingly fast at a very low TPD and pretty low production costs.
AMD makes way more effecient cpu's than atom.

I think the only way x86 will die is if we got a new architecture that can emulate x86 and x86-64 with little performance loss. Ehm, probably a RISC front end (at least when running emulation) with a CISC backend. Behind the emulation, it is at least a 64-bit processor if not a 128-bit 
laugh. AMD really killed the possibilities of replacing x86 anytime soon when they launched AMD64.

since when is there an embedded version of vista ? A thin client isnt designed to run a fully featured OS as they are usually only used to connect to terminal servers and run apps from the server so there is no need for an os in the traditional sense. although they have a small flash drive with an embedded os mostly linux/CE
