^ WTF 320 MB on a graphics card is way too little!
Thats the old 8800GTS 320mb G80. I have 384mb on my 8800GS and it runs fine. It all depends on what res your running at.

Well, the 8800GS 384MB card is extremely fast for the price you pay for it, many times keeping right up there with the 9600GT -- until any AA-AF are added then if falls dramatically behind especially at higher resolutions, but you can use 16x aniso and still have a very fast card in the 8800GS 384MB. The 8800GS-384 is the perfect budget card for 1440x900 no aa.

8800GT is better, but u can oc 9600GT to its max,9600GT ocing way better than 8800GT.

The 9600GT doesn't really overclock better than the 8800GT. The 9600GTs seem to hit in the range of 805/1970 at the high end and 740/1870 at the low end as their max overclocks. It isn't that hard to get a 8800GT up into the 750 range, where it would still outperform the 9600GT.

Not really, at resolutions 1680x1050 and below, it is plenty. The 384MB on my 9600GSO does just fine, and it has a lower bus size than the 8800GTS. The 320MB 8800GTS was pretty poplar and performed wonderfully.

Initally the 9600 GT was upto 10% slower than the 8800 GT, however with newer games being released as well as newer drivers reviews are actually showing that the gap that once existed has almost closed. Reviews are showing on newer games the 9600 GT is exactly on par and occasionally faster than the 8800 GT. The difference between the two cards are game dependant and resolution dependant I'd get the cheapest one of either or find a ATI 4850.
