I would like to see a streets of rage 2 remake, keep the same 2d scrolling but with updated graphics and maybe add an extra move or 2 but keep the rest the same.

My wishes/dreams:

Deus Ex deserves a good official update/patch. Shame won't happen.
Diablo Hellfire with fixed bugs, 1280*1024 support and other improvements. Won't happen.
Blood 3D remake with kickass graphics directx11 support and next gen engine ..... I wish
Unreal deserves official patch ....
Duke Nukem 3D no comments ...
Golden Eye improved graphics and yeah ... release it for PC! Lol I know ain't gonna happen.

Nope. And it kinda depends on what you consider a remake. Is AvP (not classic) a remake of the first AvP? I don't know, I have not played it, but no, I don't think so. I am more under the impression it's a late "sequel", or just another game in the series.

A proper NOFL game would be great, but I do not want a remake.

I don't agree with anything here actually. Part of why I still play old games is the graphics. Take Deus Ex, it's still one of the best games out there, even with the blocky graphics. It's one thing to do bug fixes and balancing (see Diablo 2), but leave the graphics alone. It also reminds me that you do not need graphics to make a good gaming experience.

Instead they should make new games in the same series that actually are good.

Congrats, you missed entire point. Changing graphics meant a different thing in my post. I don't give a crap about polygon count or high definition textures or models. I just said that it needs a better support for new systems (Windows 7 or 8). Graphical bugs (such as transparency, shadows and dynamic light) should be fixed. Old games looked good on old systems/machines. Now people have to jump through hoops just to install Tomb Raider 1, System Shock or games like that under Windows 7 or Vista x64.

I didn't even talk about that. Games just need patches to work better with new systems and that's that. I play Unreal with unofficial patch which uses hardware acceleration and game looks fantastic. Nothing (physically) changed but game now has amazing light and shadow effects and supports higher resolution. But yeah now you will say that it won't make game exp any better.... For me it does.

That wouldn't happen even if they redid the game, it would use a new engine, it's simply too old of an engine, and it wasn't even made for this platform. Which is why I suggested Source.

I didn't mean that and I know that it won't happen. I just say that if they ported that engine on pc it'd be nice and cool. And that engine maybe was even better than ID or Build engines. I bet it was the first FPS which had a sniper rifle.

I don't like source engine. It just wouldn't make sense to apply it to old goldeneye.

Just like Mussels said, most if not all remakes are made to be 'accessible'. From 50+ input keys to 8 buttons, 'regenerating' hp, etc etc.

I can imagine Mechwarrior reboot now -_-. I just wished theyd stay true to the original, add stuff like youd read in the books like ammo mag explosion, critical cockpit shots, melee attacks.

And yeah, I wish they remake Oni, with mp features. That'd be a blast.

It was just misunderstanding, happens. I blame interwebz too! Because I wasn't talking about actual remakes but rather about patching games. Yesterday I was going through all my old school FPS and found my old (of course unpatched) Unreal copy. And I found a very fresh unofficial patch (I'm no fan of unnoficial patches) but I decided to try and it didn't disappoint. Old unreal with new opengl support looks and plays really good and smooth. All shadows reflections and lights looks so good. Game felt totally different and I like it even more now. I'm always against new models/weapons/textures because they change game atmosphere drastically. This patch just changes rendering that's why I like it a lot. It's nice to see that fans support old unsupported games and make them look better without butchering its native atmosphere and gameplay

Yeah well you hit the spot with SC2 lmao. Seems like what makes a game great is taken out even going back to Deus Ex 1 and 2 but i think they might of learned there lesson with the letest one ( don't know not played it yet ). They cannot just stop messing with things that's already great and 1/2 the time it's like they don't even try.

Take Tiger Woods games they messed that up to even the interface went crap to it and never thought what if we allowed the user to select. Praise to those games that did those kind of things.

I have always wanted a new PC version of gauntlet but question is will they uck it up. I think Frozenbyte might be able to pull it of but Atari ( i THINK who is the owner ) they would truly uck it up. That game be totally sweet MP coop IF done right.

If i remember right some one making a new Mechwarrior game but like ya said it's questionable if it be like the others. I remember playing that with mouse keyboard and joystick lol.

deus ex 3 feels like a true sequel, its a great game.

its like the hit a point where they couldnt make the sequel bigger and better, so they decided to make it smaller, crapper, and release more of them faster.

And in comparison they suck, I played supcom2 for all of 20 minutes I think, I even hated the UI changes for the expansion pack for the first one...

I would however love to see a few of the old games re-done properly, not torn apart and made overly simple.

Ultima 7 comes to mind.

King's Quest could use more VGA remakes. Only I & II? The Secret of Monkey Island and Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge need a proper remake with actors, as it were in the original titles, not cartoony which was The Curse of and Escape From. Includes Tales of.
How about remakes using the engine from The Force Unleashed I & II, never will play them, for Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine along with Emperor's Tomb? I'd take those along with a brand new Indiana Jones game also for PC whicg has stellar writing, voice acting from Harrison Ford himself and is similar to Everything or Nothing, in terms of the various high caliber actors featured.
Seeing random screenshots, videos for the newest DEUS EX game and playing the demo of HARD RESET, makes me want to have another BLADE RUNNER game. More of a sequel with elements from TOTAL RECALL 2070. BLADE RUNNER from Westwood doesn't need to be remade though, except maybe 64-bit support but there's VMWare for that. Already own it but certain titles I've rebought on Steam due to native Vista/7/x64 support.
I'd love an enhanced remake for both ARENA and DAGGERFALL. The latter will come about for DaggerXL.
