and from the official forums eset uses for support

know your FACTS b4 you start blathering on about stuff.
also norton AV is not bloated anymore, it uses FAR LESS resorces then nod32(less memory and cpu) currently, nod was pulling in 34-75mb ram use across its services on average for me, norton/sep pulls around 12mb doing a drive scan or when im moving a bunch of files around, again know your FACTS b4 you start spouting BS about stuff you havent tested yourself.
idle when im just sufing the net and such norton/sep uses about 2.5mb ram.......nod was alwase at 34mb or more with the latist EAV built pre v4.
oh yeah, and enjoy the links, they should inform you that you need to apologize to darknova.

some of the highlights will be quoted.
3) PERFORMANCE
3a) Virus Scanner:
Norton has both a Quick Scan and Full System Scan. On our test computer with 77GB of used space on its hard-drive it took Norton 24 seconds to perform its Quick Scan, while the Full System Scan took 57 minutes. This does seem long for Full System Scan, however, Norton 2009 has a remedy for long scan times with its new Norton Insight.
Norton Insight identifies trusted files on your computer that do not require scanning (Whitelisting), thus scanning times are greatly shortened. For example, on our test computer (77GB used space) with Norton Antivirus 2009 installed on it, a Full System Scan was reduced to just over 8 minutes from 57 minutes before Norton Insight was run - an 85% reduction in scanning time. This improvement puts Norton's scanning times at the top of its class with short and effective scans. A great improvement over the 2008 version.
3b) System Resource Usage:
According to Trusted Reviews, Norton 2009 is 75% smaller file-size than McAfee, and uses 74% less memory than Kaspersky, both Norton's nearest competitors in each respected area. Norton 2009 is head and shoulders above its competition with their new, slimmer and slicker Norton Antivirus.
and the best part that pretty much slaps your bloated theory around.
5) CONCLUSION:
Norton Antivirus 2009 is a dramatic improvement over previous versions. Norton's old versions were known to be computer resource hogs in the Tech community. However, Norton has addressed these concerns with their 2009 version - it's now the fastest scanning, and uses the least system memory of any of its major competitors (including Kaspersky, NOD32, McAfee, Trend, BitDefender and others).
