vista 32/64 gaming performance

Hi all, currently im running vista ultimate 32bit and i heavily game on it with no probs at all, everything runs sweet, but im just curious, since my license key will also work on a 64bit version, would there be any gaming / performance benefits to opting for a 64bit os?

Coz i wanna squeeze every last drop of performance outa my rig, especially since im using a 64bit cpu.

Any thoughts? or any1 actually done a comparison?

I didn't see any performance difference in games between the 2. So I just stuck with 32bit for less driver hassles.

I use Ultimate X64 and performance benefits are not noticeable on 32bit apps.

However x64 has never given me an problems and allows me to run 64bit software as well as 32bit. I give it my vote as it's the same price and has more potential.

can 32 bit vista use PAE (or more specifically, can they access 4gb+ of ram?)

im 32 vista HP bit will soon be going 64 bit, (ive got a lappy with 32 so it can do the stuff the desktop cant) and when games and apps come out fully supporting 64 bit that is when you will notice the differance.... isnt crysis ment to have a 32 & 64 bit version?

There is one problem with the mindset that "I'll get x64 version when there is more apps available for it." Ok, who is going to make software for a platform no one uses?

This is why it is so important to have the backwards computability that Vista x64 has with 32 bit apps. If the consumer wants to speed up 64 bit software creation we need to adopt a fully 32 and 64 bit operating system.

That's why if they wanted more people to use x64 OS they should've released Vista as an x64 only OS, taken a lot of dogging and a lot of heat, and instead focused on creating a better x64 OS. I personally stick with Vista Ult. 32 because I frankly don't think that dealing with some of the hassles of x64 is worth it. They can and should do better, and sure I agree if noone uses it, then they can't create the support to an extent, but if they took the heat now, it'd pay dividends later on.

So until I hear more good about x64 or have no choice because I decide to move on to the "next Windows OS" I will be in 32 bit. But that's just my outlook and opinions, I know many like the x64 OS or like the challenge of making it work. I like to tweak and enjoy my PC too much to mess with x64 atm...
