Vista drivers' compatibility with Windows 7

I'm installing Windows 7 RC 64-bit soon. I'd like to know to what extant Windows Vista drivers are compatible with Windows 7.

I've not been able to find Win7 x64 drivers for my SB700 RAID controller, can I pull through with the Windows Vista driver?

I have used nt 4.0 drivers, 2k drivers, 2k server drivers, XP, 2003(sometimes 2003 works better), and vista drivers with 7/

Unpack the EXE with winrar if you don't see the driver install file.

Device manager, update driver, let me chose, have disc. Vista files should just install(most of the time at least.

any driver that doesnt work via the installer, almost always works when installed via device manager.

I have installed XP drivers in Vista and Windows 7. As long as its correct for X86 or X64, it should work.

But TBH, Windows 7 will almost certainly have built in drivers for the Raid Controller. In the event it doesnt use the vista ones.

i have SB700 in my media PC and had no issues. you can get standalones for vista, they work fine (i couldnt use the one bundled with the IGP driver, it lacked port multiplier support)
