Vista error, barely can run anything.

Whenever I try to install something from a CD or DVD, Vista sez:

The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.

Whenever I try to open a zip, rar etc. it says the same, I can open things, and run things that are already installed, but not install or run msi. exe's etc.

Same w/ changing settings @ Control panel, running msconfig etc.

I appreciate your help :)

Does it give you the name of a service?

Perhaps it's because you're Vista is a pirate version?

log on to Windows Vista with a user account with administrator rights, and then right click on Command Prompt icon and select “Run as Administrator.
Then execute the following command:

bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx AlwaysOff

can someone assist me.

when you go personalize, ease of access, administrative settings, then there is a restore tool, what is the name of that tool.

I can't access it because of the error, but if you tell me what its called, maybe the name of the process, it would really help.

It looks like your install/disk image was/is corrupted. Try to reinstall, then find a legal or a new copy. Sorry mate.
