Sup guys,

I just finished installing Vista Home Premium :)
Quite excited. Im on it now in fact, connected via hardline to the router.

Anyway to the point. Upon trying to install my motherboard, gfx card, wireless pci card cd's i get the following message when I try to initialise each install:

"Motherboard support cd does not support this Operating System(WNT_6.0H_32_MCE)"

I have windows updates on and i downloaded the updates it told me to, but that didnt change anything. Does this mean I have to goto each hardware vendor website and download the programs for each one in a format that supports vista.?
Or is there a simple way around this issue like a downloadable upgrade?

Im using the 32bit version, thats correct for my specs is it not?

Thanks, Im not too good with the software end of things :(

Regards,
Ex

Hmm, all i need now is to get my wireless network adapter working.
It installed, but the setup complained about a missing dll

Motherboard, GFX, keyboard hotkeys are all working fine now :)
just my luck the wireless adapter drivers will be incompatible...

Maybe you need to check your companies website to see if they have updated ones. (or maybe the windows magical devil worshiper cult pays you a visit.

I had Vista installed for a total of 2 days. Then I switched back to XP Pro. I am very excited about permanantly switching to Vista, but not until Microsoft stop supporting XP or they get some more mature drivers for Vista. When I had Vista installed, tons of my games would run but the screen would be grey and I wouldn't be able to see anything. When I went to look for patches, I found none.

pcgolfer85,it may have been a gfx driver problem.the gfx drivers seem to be kinda ok to me now.all my games work fine, all the steam stuff, vegas, stalker, infernal, serious sam 2,2142,bf2.

until i find some reason to bitch about vista i really cant,it has been stable and reliable.

it is a shame tho' ex raven you cant find a driver for that piece 'o' hardware.it will get better tho'

This was on a computer I used to have but...

I had an Nvidia 6800 gfx card with Vista certified drivers. Of course, I do believe that the gfx card driver was in a beta form at the time.

Right now, for me, it seems like it would be too much of a hassle for me to go back. It would probably become a day project because of everything I would have to install. (I would insist on a clean install)

Anyway, I'm happy to hear that someone is having a pleasant experience with Vista. Hopefully I will too some day.

IMO vista is a very intelligent creation,
the only slightly annoying thing is that permissions popup, but only because it might get in the way of gaming. So i might just turn that off.

Thank god for the vista threads here :)
and thanks for the support guys.
Its strange though, because i actually can install the driver now, but its just not functional...so i guess il have to wait until a proper vista driver comes out.

Yeah I had that same problem with vista too. I had to get the drivers from all the manufacturers because none of the cds worked. In fact, my ati driver that automatically installed with vista performed much better than the ones I downloaded. Vista is pretty good with initial installation, it will just take some time to get the kinks worked out. As for me, I'm back to xp pro for the time being as I have found that everything runs much smoother that way. I will go back to vista in a year or so. Lots of promise, just needs more support.

One of the only adapters not currently supported by a beta driver is mine lol
There are like 20 adapters with beta drivers and like 5 without, including mine.

Sigh.

This reminds me when I paid 200 dollars for a TV card for 98 and when XP came out it was the only one (They had multiple TV cards on the market at the time) didn't work and never did work in XP:nutkick:
