Vista Ultimate Automatic updates f**ked ???

Just performed a clean install of vista ultimate on my new hdd and the screenshot below shows the windows update window blanked out, i cant install from m$ website as for vista all the updates can only be installed from windows and not the net (good call microshaft :banghead:)

has anyone ever seen this kind of bug before? any ideas cause i havent got a clue and am not looking forward to performing another format.

Did you disable the AutoUpdate service in the services.msc ?

Only if you
A) Got a DEMO Version of Vista
B) Have Disabled the Windows Update service

That screen would be unavailable. Dont know of any other reasons for that :(

nope got a full (dell) oem vista ultimate and hadnt disabled any services at all, thought id wait for my updates to be installed before i tweaked it :banghead: looks like a format might be called for ffs :shadedshu

Hey man, love your sig, but I have no idea about this problem.

Probably a fubarred installation, only thing I can suggest is reinstall..

thats what i figured, it does happen sometimes you install windows and you know it hasnt gone quite as well as it should have and glitches start appearing etc XP would do it aswell wtf is with that ? oh well :confused:

You're lucky that Vista takes barely any time to install... that's one of the things I like about it.
