Is 1gb of ram on a graphics card in its last days.
Yea I saw some specs of how much vram gets used on some of the latest games, sometimes it goes close towards 2gb even on a single monitor. yet most cards seem to have only 1gb of ram. So were looking about a year left before 1gb will just not be enough. It will be old obsolete, just not enough.Old tech.
some people say it doesn't matter well Im sorry but it does matter.
vram is very important.
even on one monitor and there is no such thing as overkill.the only thing that is important is whats getting bottlenecked I may not need a 3gb ram gpu But mabie next year I will.

I remember space invaders and defender and pacman .then the sony playstaion blew me away.

your point is?

you must not have played any recent games. its pretty much impossible to play recent high resolution texture games without atleast 2GB of VRAM

I would suggest 19 - 21 inch users with resolutions below 1080P will possibly still have a while left in their 1GB cards but yes, for a few games at 1080p and above, 2GB can be limited but I still don't think this is anywhere near commonplace yet.

We know this. Most (mid/high-end) cards seem to have 2gb of VRAM or more.. Unless you're looking at cards and getting your information from a year or two ago.

Cards like the 5870 1gb are still descent cards. Just at higher settings frame rates will drop but still should be in the 30 range even at 1080. Hell Ive played BF3 on 5770 at low settings 1080. Its just not ideal
