lol. I didn't mean to imply plasma was the best. If anything LaserTV is the best, but it's not for sale yet.

I highly doubt anyone can really say what's best when including unreleased technologies. Besides it mostly depends on application as well. And of course price, plasma was new they cost over 10K and had a short lifespan. Sure it was better than most things at the time, but for the money it robbed from you I wouldn't have recommended it to anyone.

Personally I made a beamer from an overhead projector, set me back €40 and fills my whole wall. Low res, big screen, perfect for movies.

Yeah just took that as an example, dont know if it would be perfect for the job.

If I am getting one I would buy it at a shop so you could test the strength of the arms, there are some cheap crap ones out there.

I've seen that Hanns-G for $599 on newegg. Thats more than I want to cough up at once, but they offer 6 mos no intrest for $500+ purchase. I may do that and pay it off in 2 mos. That way it's under the radar. :) Married ppl know what I mean.

I too project dancing people on my wall to give me the idea I'm having a great time at home.

Another sig worthy line by SuperDanMan.

I've seen the smaller Hanns-G model's in person, and they are an excellent monitor for the price. Sry didn't ask about budget before suggesting big tv's. No interest financing FTW!

I want his job too! Seems we're in the same time zone, 10am is approaching. I am currently working an Industrial Engineer job, but am going to finish my Mechanical Engineering degree next year and move on to a real job..haha.

So much for staying on topic...:)

Edit: Memorial Day here in the states, so 3 day weekend approaching fast. Woo Hoo!

I would recomend buying a universal clamp if you can for the reason if the monitor has to be replaced you dont have to hunt for a model that fits it and you wont to do more drilling.

Feel free to do it, I still have 24 notebooks to deploy for next week. Have to build a sharepoint test server, otherwise I have no clue if the damn backup works. Intellisync projec. Some XPS laptop to test and eventually make a new image for. My own deployment tools to make, though that's to make my own life easier. Some conferencing software to figure out and deploy. Renderserver to install, RMA some mobo and perhaps get rid of the mess around me. And some other tasks I should look up in my agenda though clicking the outlook button is too much trouble.
I deserve the beer.

I will probably build my own wall-mounted entertainment center and put one of those arms on it so I can tilt the monitor when I want to sit further away and watch a movie. That way I have room for cds, dvds, speakers, and other crap.

I'd assume MSE degree? Thats pretty sweet. I am going to finish up my BSE and take off, hopefully it will work out as planned. Where are you working now?

I was going to include something sort-of on topic, but really can't think of anything. Oh well.:ohwell:

That was just for my 4-year! I worked, got married, and had kids all in that time frame.

I work as a project engineer in SE Texas.

I see. Thats certainly understandable then. I will hopefully be done next December, I took off Jan-July this year working a coop engineering position, getting some experience and some dough of course. That kind of pushes me back in my plans though, but we'll see. I plan on getting out of Arkansas when I finish, so who knows where I'll end up.

Also, glad to hear your an Aggie, and not a Longhorn.:toast:

Wow, how do you play your banjo then? I'd love to see a snake play a banjo.

I cannot believe you have never seen that. Youtube has everything...

I quoted newegg in error earlier. The 28" Hanns-G monitor is $499.99, not $599 as stated earlier.

Also free shipping at the moment.
