Want to know if q9650+p5q-e will get 445x9=4.0

I'm using q9650+p5q deluxe and running stable at 445x9 with 1.325v

now I'm wondering if I change it to P5Q-E/WiFi-AP would it be possible to run stable at 445x9 with 1.325v like p5q deluxe

I just want M/B that can do 445x9 (Q9650) and has WiFi-AP but I'm not sure with P5Q-E/WiFi-AP

The chances are very, very good - but no one can guarantee that a specific board will run any specific OC setting 100%. Boards vary from sample to sample... One p5Q-e may be able to OC higher than another - conversely there are some that do not OC at all... YMMV and all that. Keep the box and the receipt until you know you will be happy with it. :toast:

TBH i think you can get that chip to 4.2 w/ no problems on either board.

I went from a P5K Premium that could take my Q6600 all the way up to my max of 4.1, however on normal everyday clocks (3.2 / 3.6) it needed alot more voltage compared to my new P5Q Pro - 3.2 used to need 1.32V on my P5K, on this it takes 1.20V. 3.6Ghz used to need 1.4V, now it only needs 1.328V. I do think newer boards handle overclocks better, but you cant 100% say "Yes this board will do this whereas 'X' board could only do this".

I owned both a P5K-E, and a P5Q-E. The P5Q-E was a much better board imo, much easier to OC and P45's are supposed to overclock quads better...or so I have heard. I recommend the P5Q-E:)

i dont see the point getting a new motherboard just for a wireless adapter with an ap built in to it when you can get a cheap pci-e or usb wifi adapter that can do the same thing.
