Hi all,
I recently bought an Asus A8N32. I use a Sapphire X800 GTO Ultimate on it with a ATI Silencer 5 rev 2. Temps never go above about 54 degrees celsius on the GTO.
I found that the GTO would oc to above 540 on the core (Haven't reached the limit yet), and with the ATI silencer, the memory would also go far above 500. THis was using ATI-Tool, no artifacts. However, when I started Quake 4, the PC would restart. Only at about 440 core mhz would Q4 run without crashing. I was really disappointed. For some strange reason, ATItool also reported that the card was set at wrong stock speeds when I started it.
To cut it short, the culprit was the new "PEG-link" option in the BIOS for the A8N32. When I disabled it, Q4 ran happily at core 540+ and the problems went away. Just wanted to warn about this in case others get problems.
