Does it really matter? Either way you are going to get the same flow rate with certain parts so it's not like you can improve flow one way or the other. As for temperatures the water is going to be its warmest after your cpu/gpu block(s) so would the rad be best after to cool the hot water or before to give the coldest before hand?

Thoughts/opinions?

i believe that for configuring the loop, you must consider 2 basic things.
pump and tubing size..if you have a strong pump you could easily have the loop f.e. tank-pump-rad-block-tank..like mine..
if your pump is weaker the best loop is tank-rad-pump-block-tank,so that the water that reaches the block has sufficient pressure to create enough turbulence.
the same with the size of the tubing..

Well my water setup should be here today, any minute actually.
2x120mm rad, MCP655 pump, apogee gt block, and minires all 1/2in. I know this pump can easily push all of this along with two gpu blocks and another rad. Does it really make a big difference though?

yes because not having a sufficient flow and block turbulence, causes water to move slower, transfer heat slower,so having higher temps..
you can do a test with your pump...turn on your system and notice the temp difference when you adjust the speed (1-5) of your pump..

I thought I read somewhere that it was better to cool the water (rad) before you feed it back into the pump to keep the pump cooler also (so rad->tank->pump->blocks->rad).

Not sure if the info was accurate or made any real difference.

Well I went with Pump>CPU>Rad>Res>Pump for the order. Suprisingly temps are 36c idle at 1.4x104% for vcore. For load it jumps to 45ish almost the instant I put load onto my cpu. I just reseated the block thinking I was getting poor contact but I had a perfect circular smudge of AS5.

Can anyone help me get these temps down?

is all the air out of the loop?have in mind that you`ll see the best temps in 2-3 days when the AS is spreaded 100%.

Yeah it is, trust me. I was working on it from about 10pm last night til 4 this morning...ugh. I was hoping for 30c idle less the 40c load.

When I had my loop this is what I did:

Tank-Pump-CPU-120mm RAd-GPU/s-Double 120mm Rad-Tank

I have always had mine:

Res - Pump - Blocks - Rad

But as long as you have yout Res before your pump I cant see the order making to much of a difference as its a closed loop?
