What is the difference between the 9550 and the 9450 that I have besides stock clock? Or isn't there?

OH yeah that is a given man this will be the first place that get's the scoop .

it's worse when they ship from the warehouse that is NOT closest to you. I ordered a new sound card and mouse on monday, expected to get it Tuesday night from the Memphis warehouse but it shipped from Cali and won't be here 'till tomorrow. I had off today and was going to play!

Maybe I am being to optamistic but from what I have seen many are getting 4.0GHz easy !!! Boy I can hardly wait to see just how fast this CPU is !!

The Q6600 is a nice CPU I know but come on it has it's limit's no SSE4 . 65NM ( not 45)
L2 Cache 2x 4 MB slow stock speed as well 2.4GHz takes a ton of energy to get it up there . Been around a long time . so upgrading to this Q9550 should give me some more speed , fun and power ! :rockout:

Well it is a 45nm CPU with more cache and more stock speed . So in theory I should get way better temps I should be able to get better OC as well dude to the low heat and power requirements .Yes I can not wait to get it and over night shipping means it should be here in the morning . :rockout:

you'll hit 4.0. I did a 3.5ghz from stock overclock without even changing my voltage when I had one.

From what the Q6600 speed ? well you also need to take into account the other things as well like the instruction sets SSE4 the higher Cache 12MB the smaller die 45NM and well the over all speed from all that is going to be noticeable since I can see that the Q9550 is killing mine and mine has a hard time being stable at really high speeds even the 3.7GHz is a bit unstable . So over all I will be getting more speed and a better CPU .

Now I am not say that but it has proven to be some what of a challenge to over clock on both the 680i and 750i mobo getting past 3.6GHz was and is hard and the Vcore it needs a ton to keep stable . all in all a great CPU IMHO the Q6600 will live on that is for sure .

NICE!!! I was planning to get one of these chips myself with the recent price cuts n what not. but price over here in the EU are still over 200.GBP Might see if it comes down a little more. still once overclocked it should perform better or close to an i7 gen system the 12Mb cache is going to make swiss cheese out of boot up/load times. which also makes it not bad to also run in a server if you ever do choose to upgrade.

let me know how the overclocking goes.
