What was it 2 years ago ?, and didn't the flood happen more to the end of the year ?. $145 mill profit is not that much even more so if they want to up the research on making better HDD's\SSD's.

Maybe part of the held price hike is to bring in funds for SSD Research and hire people to create SSDs for them.

WD dont make SSDs....Yet

but as it stands they are one of the biggest names and sellers in the hdd world so i doubt that they are in any rush to make SSDs when they are almost dominating the market from the lack of competition.

They could released SSDs but then how many competing brands are there??? It would make more money from HDD sales then SSDs

Funny....I don't recall saying WD make SSDs.

I don't see why they wouldn't want to join the band wagon and keep up as, SSD size inxcreases, the want for HDDs will most likely reduce unless tjhey continue to manufacture HDDs able maintaining a capacity far beyond what SSD has for a low price.

They sell them just not not large ones. But maybe they want more of that market too and who could blame them if they think they could get some..
