agreed, I've always thought it was retarded how much they split signals in places like BB and Sears, they have all those amazing DLP and LCD screens yet the picture looks horrible due to the signal lol, go figure

so nflesher87, how does your sammy 24" look? did you get it?

The Westinghouse arrived. I am very impressed. I will never purchase an LCD with a TN panel again. The picture was ok but I can't handle the 10 degree viewing angle. I am not exaggerating. Just last night I had a video on for my 2yr old. He started whinning because he couldn't see a good picture so I had to tilt the monitor toward him. I am replacing a 24" Acer. I have had all sorts of Dell 19, 20, 24" LCDs and have three 2407FPW at work. This LCD has exceeded my expectations. Color reproduction is superb (is it 8bit?). I am a big fan of glossy black too. One document problem is that is doesn't sleep into power conserving mode. I have already had this bite me twice in two hours. I should also mention I am running on HDMI with a converter. I wonder if it will sleep with the VGA cable?

I'm not a Westinghouse fan boy. I am as cautious and skeptical as the next guy. My wife is annoyed that I keep selling these monitors on ebay. She told me to just get the best and end the madness. But i'm too frugal to purchase a Dell 24/27/30" so I had to try the $350 Westinghouse. I can honestly say that I will be keeping this for a loooong time. I'm thinking of an excuse to get #2. The HDMI, component, and MVA panel are what made me give a try.

As I have lived in Korea I am a big fan of Samsung. I would just caution that if it a TN panel you will not be happy with the viewing angle. If its not a TN this is probably a better picture and worth the $450.

Recent monitors I have purchased:
Sceptre 22" - I could not get the colors to reproduce well, greens were terrible
Dell 22" - Great monitor, bad viewing angle because TN panel
Dell 24" - Amazing monitor, a little expensive
Acer 24" - Very poor build quality, TN panel issues (color, viewing angle)
Westinghouse - Great colors and viewing angle, hdmi, component, no sleep

Yeah, the Westinghouse is a true 8-bit panel.

I hate my Tn-Film 19" Samsung. I want rid of it. I have a 20" iMac that has an 8-bit panel in it, and I have been completely spoiled by it. I'll never willingly buy another Tn-Film panel again.

I only have my eyes on a single LCD monitor, I've found the best price in Australia, I'm saving as we speak... It is the 22" Samsung 226BW. It was love at first sight you may say :p

Best buy doesn't sell the 226bw monitor any more. They replaced it the the 226cw. I have considered a 22'' but I want the 1920x1200 res.
