Westinghouse vs samsung monitor

currently i'm considering 4 monitors.

which should i get? i like the Westinghouse but i like Samsung. i want either 22" or 24" as i listed above, and the price cheap as possible but needs to be a good monitor (no SCEPTRE please)

I would also like it to have more than just dvi (or hdmi) and vga. i know the samsungs don't have them (but i can live without them)

ive read a lot of good thing about samsung monitors, and the user reviews say the Westinghouse is good but the "pro" reviews don't like it.

I'll say go with the westinghouse 24", cant be much worst than the samsung picture wise and it has component in elc but the samsung does come with a nice stand.

You should just go for the UbEr cheap Westinghouse 42" or 37" Monitor. I have the 42", I love it. But if you have to get one of those, get the Samsung. I have a 19" Westinghouse and its garbage. It's weird, My 42 is great, but my 19 sucks.

EDIT: I have 3 friends that bought the 42" after seeing it in person. $1000 for a 42" 1080p monitor is a great deal.

i do not have enough room for a 42" lol. heck, not even a 37" biggest i want is a 24"
im considering dells because it's got other input also.

I have had no problems with my Samsung. However there are or were getting a 3rd party make some of them and were not up to how the true Samsung monitors are.

I'd surly pick a 24" one as i wish my monitor was bigger. BUT at that time i got mine i was using dual monitors there fore would not had the space at that time lol..

As for a 37\40' LCD's don't they take a lot more power to run as well ?.

humm sounds like Westinghouse dont make the greatest monitors :O I donno I dont live in the US and I never seen one around here.. Samsung make great mointors though.

PS- when I moved to my new desk I wished my monitor was bigger.. this desk can fit up to a 24" easily. but I find Im to far away from my monitor now... bigger is better. why not check out a 26" samsung tv??

Get the 24" Westinghouse. It has an M-PVA panel. The rest are TN-Film. Viewing angles are crap with TN-Film, the colors change if you are just a couple of degrees above or below straight on. Native color reproduction and contrast is also much better with the P-MVA panel. A TN-film panel has to use dithering to achieve the same results.

although i will be getting a discount on this monitor, i don't really want to spend a lot of money on it, but $500 is a lot.
also, i really want a 1920x1080 res (most 22" will do it) and a 26" tv won't do it

should you want to upgrade in 12 months time id suggest sticking with the better know brand of Samsung if not id still go for the 24inch Westinghouse model, it seems to have the better reviews and the best connectivity, together with the rebate id say it is the best value but you do run the risk of image quality with lesser know brands as some use lesser grade LCD panels.

Im getting the samsung 246BW in about a week

it's a beaut, plus I'm getting it at the local sams club for same price as online w/o shipping so it'll be easier to return or anything if there's a prob
if you're worried about cost at all I'd def just get the westinghouse since it's that much cheaper, that's a big difference

hmm, well i'm going to do a employee pricing at best buy tomorrow and see the price difference. everyone keeps saying go for a 24" so i think i will. i'm also debating on buying it in like 2 weeks or like 5 weeks (if i wait 5 weeks i can get it cheaper)

Well, here's another one for you guys.

i plan on getting a 2950 xt/pro and could i run the games at 1920x1080 with most of the eye candy on? I will more than likely just play mostly dx9 (maybe some dx10) but prolly not many.

reading the 2, 3 and 4 egg reviews it seems the Westinghouse monitor is more of a tv.. but it still serves as a monitor well.. one of the 2 egg reviewers said the monitor has a whinny pitch when you lower its brightness.. thats prob just a defect on his though.

I havent voted but I would go with the Samsung.. unless you cant get around not having hdmi.. I guess the speakers dont sound good on the monitor anyway.

samsung makes the best lcd's quality wise out there. atleast in the tv market, but they are also in the top few for computer lcd's, i say samsung hands down.
