What am I missing?

Well my last GTX 460 1GB from MSI stopped working on me literally... the fans stop, and the card made a crunching noise and poof ^_^ by baby...

well now I got yet another RMA from new egg and I absolutly loooovvedd my 460 (when it was alive... lol)

so I am going to buy a EVGA, just to try it out (heard a lot of good from them as well)

so I looked up to very nicely priced GTX 460's.. however... I am completely baffled as to why one is lower then the other... this is what I am seeing :

GTX 460 SSC+

this is 10$ lower with a longer warranty and a mich higher OC

and this is 10 more with a lesser warranty and a reference clocks... : GTX 460 Reference

WHY!?!?!? they both offer game, and the same accessories am I missing something?

What you're seeing is PROBABLY more stock of one card so they are priced to move. Will admit, I love my EVGA 768MB reference card. IIRC, mine was pre-flashed with the FPB bios, didn't make a difference as it had got bios modded 2 weeks after I got it.

EDIT:

Oh before you get it, another option if you can find one in your price range is the HD6870(highly doubt though) if you want to go red camp for a while.

its a recert which means it tested good as new its looks new as well when you get it no smudges or fingerprints. they do go back to PNY

clocks great just BTW the fan ticks a day or so then goes away.

90 days is plenty i loaded the GPU 100% for a bit to make sure in furmark if it doesn't die in the first few days it wont die in 3 months

the gtx 470 would be very viable but I game at 1368x768 = 1200MB of VRAM? and the TI isn't that much bttr then a 460 same for the 470, would it really matter at my resolution?

I also would like to state that I probably wont replace monitors for another 3 years.. i hate buying monitors...

1366x768!? @ That res you would be fine even with a HD5770, anything stronger than that add some AA.

Just for a comparison, I game at 1920x1200 and I play BFBC2 and bulletstorm at completely maxed settings and I still get anywhere from 40-70 fps with a GTX 285. (BFBC2 has an AF option that is also set at 16)

I seriously need to get myself banned from here lol just deciding my upgrades because of all the awesome people and their kickin upgrade plans make me do so much extra work lol xD

Im getting a EVGA SSC+ GTX 460 and a new gaming mouse... I WILL not buy a new monitor any time soon, so the 1280MB will probably never get seen... or 100% used... I only play COD4, BC2 and MW2... I don't think a 460 would have a single hick up, especially after a decent OC (it comes heavily OC'd any ways).
