    Greetings.

I've just today installed some new parts on my PC and I was wondering what do you guys think about it:

AMD Athlon X2 3800+ to CPU in My System
Asus A8N32 Deluxe to Motherboard in My System (the one with the Foxyconn, four CPU reinsertions because of user dumbness(removal of thermal paste), but only 2-3 pins not making contact.)
Generic 2GB DDR to RAM in My System.

I haven't got much to time to fiddle with it at the moment so, how much improvement will I see in games and other general applications for moving from a X2 to a i3?? If possible, say which parts would you upgrade next if you had this system.

Edit: Oh right, my signature is now bad :\.

Nice low-mid rig! As much as I would like to flame the i3 530, its actually a good chip and overclocks like a beast. I think you have a winner here.

I remember when I made the jump from 939 to my E6400 with DDR2. It was a noticible change. I can only assume with newer archetecure of the i3 and the added benefitis of DDR3, I dont see how you can go wrong honestly.

I am also sure you could step into new AMD a bit cheaper too.

Actually, for gaming I would rather pick the i3 530 over the Ahtlon II 630 at the cost of some performance loss in general day to day multitasking.

I was aware of that, but I wanted to tryout Intel processors for a while, it has been 4 years with an AMD one ;).
