What good games did I miss?

All my parts for my pc (see system specs) have arrived today. I'm putting my new gaming rig together tomorrow morning.

As you might notice, it's a big upgrade from my previous desktop(system specs) and broken laptop(sig).

So what games did I miss these past 2-3 years and should I absolutely play. I'm not into sport/racing games, but mostly shooters and action RPGs.

I think I'll give the Witcher another shot. It wouldn't run after I upgraded to Windows 7 on my old desktop, it said I didn't have a registered version iirc

I bought the non-enhanced edition a few years ago.

Could be, I noticed there's a 1.5 patch which removes the DRM. Should work I guess.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned S.T.A.L.K.E.R. yet. Not sure if you had a chance to play Shadow of Chernobyl, but you probably missed out on the prequel, Clear Sky, and the sequel, Call of Pripyat. Red Faction: Guerrilla was also a pretty great game, despite being a console port...
