Still hopeing for 7 nm Vega, but cant help wondering - should there not be a refresh of Polaris this year? Any info out here I have missed about it?

Not a single chance for that. We can only assume that mobile ones are close by now judging by the last GPUz update changelist. Any new gpu from AMD will have the Vega arch (even with GDDR6) until Navi arrives, since it has added features and clocks higher.

That would be beating a dead horse. The issue with Polaris isn't the chip (its well balanced and GCN won't go much further anyway) its the supply of it and the basic architecture and everything points towards Vega as the continuing iteration of GCN for lower segments. Let's face it, Polaris and Vega are going to compete for the same segment, it won't be making any sense. Neither is capable of competing on the top end - we will see MCM Vega (Navi) to solve that issue most probably. A pretty bleak future if you ask me.
