What happens if i upgrade to 5770?

question is your gfx card a PCI-E or an AGP??
If its PCI-E then you can use it for now until you get more money again to buy a new gfx card.

Thats what i would buy with your budget, after you get more money buy new gfx card and another 2GB stick and your all good.

In fact it is pci-express, that is why i wanted to upgrade to 5770
I can get the power suply for free + a 1 Gb ram ddr 3 for 16$
so the price goes down to 250$ - 100$ = 150$
That minus is for the power supply and the ram which goes down from 60 to 15
I can get 2 sticks if i want to upgrade more.
But now the question still remains: Shall i upgrade to 5770 with my current rig?
If not why? How much does it bottleneck? Cuz i even think it bottlenecks with the rig you guys are suggesting...

This has faster cpu, ram, and a psu that is modular and active pfc

or same parts with just that corsair 400w psu

I dont need the power suply and the Ram. Just the best mobo possible and that rana cpu
Anyone can suggest just a better mobo?

usb3.0 and sata 6

Edit: DING 500 post just noticed

if you read what we was discussing earlier the PSU you are "getting" may not be a good one,if its some unknown brand then their is no chance it will work with your system perfectly with a 5770.
We advise you to check what it is and come back to the forum to give us the info.

A special thanks for the mobo suggested by delta cuz i really think that is the best one for the budged i have.
Does anyone has a bet with me that the ati 5770 is going to function even with my 350W PSU??
It only uses 255W-265W till now imagine removing the 7600 GS (I dont really know what is the thermal design power) It is going to function FOR SURE!!!
And that 550 W PSU is bought for 4$ :P so i dont really know if it is powerful or not, but my 350W PSU is cooler master, so it is simply the best :D

Does your PSU have a 6 pin PCI-E power connector? It may have enough watts, but I doubt it's pushing enough amps. It will probablly work anyways.

No it does not have, but i read in a review about 5770 that it has the connector itself i dont really know if that connector is meant to connect with the PSU 6-pin connector. Will it work even without the connector?

It won't work without the connector. The card comes with an adapter that connects to two four pin molex connectors on the PSU.

So all i need is a PSU wich has the capability to connect with that card!
Anyone can list the right PSU for 5770? The cheapest possible PLS :)

For PSU i d say u shouldnt be cheapo...Well if u want your components to last long enough and not have your new mobo or cpu BURN cos of crappy current...
So here are some PSU of 400-500watts that will get u going

But even with new mobo/cpu and psu u still need at least 2 gigs of ram cos your pc will take ages to load the GREAT games u will be able to play with the new h/w since these games will need 1gig of ram for them selves...

And the thing about a bad PSU taking a system with it is just an old wives tale IMO.

If you truly believe that...then you haven't been building and or servicing rigs for long....I've seen PLENTY of rigs fryed from faulty and low quality PSU's.....stop tossing around an opinion you have no knowledge of....your gonna cost someone thier rig one day.

To the OP......don't go silly cheap on the PSU....it plugs into everything you have.....so choose wisely. :toast:

Hope it helps. :)

I 2nd that,my friend had his MOBO/RAM/HDD fried from a psu fail...

I've seen branded PSUs take out rigs.

Shit happens!

Technically budget psus have to meet a minimum safe standard so aslong as you buy one with a manufacturers warranty you should be legit : ]

I use fancy psus on fancy rigs, highquality budget psus on low end builds.

buy my combo ;)

edit nm, intl :p

My card is 4 Generations behind, at the time they recommended a 450 Watt PSU, If you are smart you will get a 600 Watt or better Quality PSU, not some cheap BS that came with a generic case.

take a good psu, mobo 770-780G-or 790GX will be cool, cpu phenom II x3 or X4, 2G or 4G of ram, graphic card i see you chose good one 5770 or 5850 will be great, i know it's look expensive but this is can call it upgrade

I just heard that asus usb 3.0 and sata III with 890GX and SB800 will be out. I think that is the best mobo i can have cuz i was waiting for it, but i was thinking it will be out very lately :)
Anyone knows which is the cheapest amd processor to date for am3 socket?
Thanks

most of the athlon II chips (if not all of them) are AM3 compatible.
