R5 240 is about $15 shipped on eBay.

Otherwise at $50 - $90 there is:

RX 550, GTX 950, GTX 750 Ti, R9 270, R7 260.

I'd personally recommend either the RX 550 or GTX 950 as those two GPUs have support for higher resolutions and more ports. Important if you are using a modern monitor.

If you go with an intel CPU, you don't need a graphics card. You can use the one embedded into the CPU.
Just make sure to check the CPU benchmarks on TPU before buying, so you're getting the performance you need out of whatever CPU you decide on.

However...
please do yourself (and everyone else) a huge favor & avoid buying graphics cards from ebay.

There are moar fake ones than real ones there... ie...cards sold as one model but are actually a lower-spec'd card that has been flashed with the bios from a higher-end card (so that it shows up in device manager as the higher-end card).

And the aggravation of trying to return/get a refund from all those scammers is just not worth it IMHO...

Have you tried looking on the buy/sell forums here or at other sites like (H)ardForum.com, Anandtech, OCnet etc ???? There are usually quite a few good folks there looking to sell off old parts (for reasonable prices too) after upgrading/repairing older machines :)

You if you plan to do movie editing you will need a Nvidia graphics card, adobe software works well with cuda cores found on Nvidia cards, not AMD cards. Or you can use the onboard gpu on Intel processors.

Or, use common sense and actually read the listing to figure out of it's legit or not. If it is suspicious then obviously ignore that listing.

Just do your research before you buy. I've ordered two GPUs on eBay (a Radeon HD 7750 and an RX 460 for those wondering) and got what I was supposed to each time.

As a general rule, if it looks something like these, then it's fake.

Note the IO always consists of an HDMI, a DVI, and a VGA.

Agreed. But there are plenty of confirmed legit GPU sellers on eBay as well. You can sort out the suspect/bad ones pretty easily.

Simple answer isn't it.

The GPU with the lowest price, and more often than not, local prices matter here.

@lovegood you should be more specific.
What will you use it for (resolution, gaming or just display output?)
And what is your actual budget?

FWIW I stay far away from Ebay and resellers on similar sites too. Just give me a proper webshop with a local/domestic owner so I have a normal RMA process in case things go wrong, and national warranty instead of 'whatever you can hope for'. There are too many shite GPUs going around, even besides fakes, you can also get a refurb with a new sticker on it. And now more than ever because demand is high and supply is meh.

EDIT: just re-read your OP and you say Adobe. OK. Resolution still matters abit.
