What is this (Fluid) on motherboard...

I have owned this board for well over A year , have had no issues. Bought it as A open box dirt cheap from newegg. I checked it and tested it had no issues other then A bit of thermal paste near the stocket. I was happy. It has ran 24/7 (still dose) with out issue. I got A cheap 10700k so changing out my Sever when I noticed this. The fluid is A oil or maybe A grease. I was thinking it is coming from the thermal pads ??? I have build alot of computers ... never seen anything like this.

What I know.
the oil came from inside ..
their is no other oil in the case ...
their is no oil from any fans ...
the oil seems like is all heading down ... like dripping not spray.

I know caps can leak .. but this dont seem like what is ...

I think its the thermal pads .. but not sure.

anyone have any ideas ?

Never Overclocked , Used Wraith Prism cooler from my 3700x

(update) their is more of it on the back (but not as much) .. and it would line up with the VRM heatsinks .. but how would it leak threw to the back ?

Nothing like that is happening on my B450 Tomahawk. I’ve seen that on graphics cards from the VRM components, and assumed it was the thermal pads.

yea ... it froze in TX a few months back .. was epic cold then ...

and I did use alcohol on it .. but you can still see the outlines of it .. but cant feel it .

It's nothing to worry about, most likely oils from thermal pads.

Hi,
I remember well if you were lucky to have electricity and let your home get cold with a warm computer it could produce condensation in hot spots.
Was it a sticky feel or just damp ?

Silicone oil weeping from the pads. This is exceptionally common for high heat components or where excessive clamping pressure is applied.

Congrats on being one of the 10,000 today to learn this neat little fact about thermal pads. There are non-silicone based thermal pads for specific markets but they're not generally used for consumer components because these devices are not being installed into mission critical sensitive environments or being tested for million hour reliability metrics.
