Some thoughts

- Since I will be getting a PCI 2.0 Express - x 16 graphics card, I need a 2.0 Express - x 16 slot correct?

Main Questions

- What would be the best motherboard for this computer setup?

- What would be the best SLI motherboard for this computer setup?

Thanks for your input!

A PCI-E 2.0 Card will work on any mobo with a PCI-E slot but bandwith will be limited.

The best motherboards for quads are P45 based ones ,but for SLI you will have to use an Nforce mobo.

IMO, Abit has high quality motherboards with high quality components... But since you need SLI motherboard i would go for an ASUS P5N32-E SLI PLUS or ASUS P5N-T DELUXE...

I think you should clarify your budget. That makes a huge difference is what MB people should suggest to you, since worthy boards range in price from $100-$400. You are going to pay a premium if you want a decent SLI board, and I've yet to believe that there is ample return on investment with SLI, except in benchmarks. In real world gaming, the card you currently have will crush everything in it's path except maybe crysis on it's highest setting. I'm just saying, you should take a moment to think about what your needs are and what you have to spend.
