For the moment i have an old fortron 350 watts .There are some games like bfbc2 when even on the lowest details and resolution the game lag and freeze and the computer is restarting :(.
I need more power, that is obvious.
My question is it enought 500 watts for my system with unlocked processor to 4 cores or i need a 600 watts psu to run the computer smooth and to unlocked it without a concern.

Thank You !

Even one of the Corsair 400w/430w would be fine for that system though 500w would be ideal.

Yeah stick to ~500w, might be useful if you upgrade one day.

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
500W Can easily handle your system. A QUALITY 500W PSU like Corsair 550VX or something. Thing is, I dont believe your problem with lagging and freezing has anything to do with your PSU unless it is breaking. What games do you play? At what resolution?

You have a weird setup too... 3x1GB ram so you have 2GB in dual channel and 1GB in single.

Games like crysis , crysis 2 ( witch are heavy games) dont crashes and restart , but everytime when i play bc2 the game starts to lagging and restart the computer. Strange , but there where some cases it restarts when i was playing pro evolution soccer :D.
I play on 1680x1050.

If your system is set to default clocks then i guess it could be the power supply.

550w is more than enough just make sure it has enough amperage and has no or little voltage ripple. Thermaltake Toughpower or a Corsair should be great.

id avoid OCZ i dont think they are terrible but the voltage ripple and quality of components was at least crap with the stealthxstream
OCZ are better than those generic power supplies for sure

So if the 'heavier' games do not restart but a 'lighter one' does, you think its the PSU...........? ;)

That said, stay away from OCZ when compared with Corsair. Cant go wrong there.

Here is a list of approved PSU's from one of the best reviewers around. Pick one on this list that is available to you and you will be fine.

System in my specs runs perfectly fine with an unlocked, highly clocked Phenom and an HD 5770. Cheap PSU but enough quality to run my system and yours too.

They arent that good either. Especially that Stealthextreme line IIRC... Might as well have been Apevia. :p

There are better choices out there seemed to be the consensus. There was no hate where hate wasnt deserved. ;)

Indeed there is but it's not horrible. It's all about what the OP can find, I have no idea what's in stock in Bulgaria. :p

Thats why I provided him with the link of approved PSU's from quality reviewers... so he can choose a qulaity PSU that is available in his area. :)

OCZ PSU's are "B" level. Ok, but there is better out there, and likely for similar money.

A 350w generic psu is not enough power for a HD4850 and a quad. It's best to get a psu from a known company. Any name brand psu you buy is going to be better than a Fortron.

Yeah if it can put out 350W its good... and if its not overclocked it is...110W TDP on the 4850 and 125W on the processor. Though there isnt much headroom, sure.

I had an overclocked Q9650 @ 4Ghz and a 4870 (stock) and didnt break 300W at the wall while gaming. Thats an 80% efficient PSU too, so I was really around 260W actual use.

Do you have your chip unlocked?

EDIT:

I really need to learn how to read. It may not even be power supply, one or both of your unlocked cores may be unstable causing the crash. What makes it so hard to tell is that you are using a low rated power supply. Switch to your integrated video & test your cpu first (prime 95/OCCT/LinX).

That's a great point made by Jr, check out that CPU to see if it's fully stable. Also play around with the RAM as well.

I recommend based on your specifications to choose one that:

Has single 12V rail
Has 30+ amps in that rail
500W or higher.

Your PSU is very weak and can cause serious issues now, or in the future, so I would update it anyway even if your problem is caused by other issues. Which IMO is 99% sure is the PSU but can be caused by many things, like the video card, RAM, drivers, overheating, unstable CPU, etc.

OK thats cool and I presume you have RAM timings at default or have you checked the timings are correctly setup?

Yes , as you can see i have 3x1 gb a-data 1333mhz . the first 2 i have buyed them together in the begining ,later i decided to add more ram ,because 2 gigs are not enought.
the 3 ram chips are checked, all of them are runining at 1333 frequency (533) and there timings are the same :) nothing is clocked here ,not even the card . i just need a new and better power supply to unlock the core ( have a pretty good cpu cooler , he will handle it :) ) add 1 more gig ram and instal a 64-bit windows 7 os ,thats all :rockout:
