What should I get for Memory?

I currently have 2x 2GB sticks of PQI 800

I am looking for a 4GB kit of hish speed RAM

any help would be greatly apreciated

I'm assuming if he only has 2 slots, then it is only DDR2. The slots are not compatible with both.
Edit: That board is DDR2 only.

In 2x2GB sticks, it's one of the fastest. D9's will clock the best, but not available in 2GB sticks. As sneeky said, faster sticks are out there, but rare and very expensive.

Some boards handle memory much better than others. Not only that, but it will allow you to use 4 dimm slot. This gives you flexibility to expand your memory, or use 4x1GB D9 sticks.

If you have a board that can handle the stress, 4x1GB D9's is about as fast as you will ever find.

DFI Blood Iron p35 ($85) plus Buffalo firestix 4x1GB ($100). Excellent budget MB and mery combo on a budget. The Firestix are D9's, and the BL can hadle the stress.

The BloodIron is good n all, but I don't recommend it cause if you don't have a 65nm cpu to flash 45nm support then that would stink.

I would stick around with your current board and some PI ram as sneeky said. Should be cheaper in the long run anyway. That g31 Gigabyte board is a great board, I've built many PC's with it. I have the (2x2gb) Black, but they are only DDR2 800, which is plenty fast for me.
