What socket are you using?

Well, I kind of agree with them, by my guess the marketshare of AM3/2 is probably something like 30%(based on the responces to the poll and Steam's Hardware Survey). So why make 70% of the market pay for a bracket they aren't going to use? Of course, I would have prefered them to not include any brackets and just let us pick which we wanted and lower the overall price $30.

Then again I don't see much point in putting a $300 water cooling kit on a sub-$300 processor...

I am still using my old trusty AM2+. I am waiting for the new Bulldozer socket (AM3+?)before a complete upgrade.

I don't see the point of buying a pre-made kit either way, but I have both AM2+ and S775.

Besides, everyone knows these retention brackets (AMD or Intel) are made in China and no doubt cost 3 cents to produce so I guess Swiftech just wants to make a quick 'buck' by charging a certain group of enthusiasts for the pleasure (or not) of using their kit. :shadedshu

Moral of this story?

Buy used parts off TPU and end up with a full loop for far less than this crap costs. :toast:

Well, they could make a universal kit and charge for all mounting hardware.
Then, they should knock of a few dollars and sell target specific kits for those who want them.
Or, even, knock of even more dollars and let you buy the kits separately.

Or, imo, don't buy their stuff if you don't like their business practices.
