Well, Newegg finally got off of their lazy asses and refunded me the money they owed me for a faulty video card that they don't even carry anymore...
Anyway, I now have $300, and on friday I'm looking at around $150 more...

I have been looking into getting a new mobo, proc, and ram, but with $450 as my cap I can only get two of those. I have also been looking into just spending it all on a nice video card, as the one I have now sucks... (actually, its a pretty good card, but I like to max out the settings on whatever game I play, and if I cant max the eye candy, I wont play it, and, well, the 1600xt is just not good for doing that...) I have also contemplated saving the money and getting a damn nice dx10 card when more come out, but I'm still not sure if dx10 games are even gonna be supported on xp...

ANYHOO....
I have a few parts I will list that I have been looking at, any suggestions as to what I should get would be greatly appreciated.

PS: I play at 1280x1024, so the video card must be able to max the settings at that res if I choose to buy a video card. Also note that my current mobo only has pci-e x4, so an 8800gts wont run (I know, it sucks, I want one). Also note that if i decide on a mobo, I will also have to get ram, as I am currently on DDR-1 memory.

Proc:
C2D e6600, $318
C2D e6400, $220

Mobo:

OCZ Gold 2x 1GB DDR2 533, 3-3-3-12 @ 1.9v, $217.99
G.Skill 2x 1GB DDR2 800, 5-5-5-15 @ 1.8-2.0v, $229.99

Video Card:
Sapphire X1900XTX 512 MB, $354.99
Diamond X1950XTX 512MB, $379.99

Wait until the new AMD"S come out then the price on the Intels C2D's will go down.
Get the G. skill memory and an X1900XTX, can't reccomend either Saphire or Diamond, have had trouble with both. I have heard that Sapphire is under contract to build the ATI branded cards though. The asus boear is probably the better of the two, but save a little more money while u wait and you can probably get a better board also.

get the gskill and a x1900xt. the extra hundred MHz of the xtx doesnt justify the price hike. a 256mb xt version would blow the x1600 you have out of the water, and is only a bit over 200 depending where you get it.

Don't know about the Abit board. But the P5W DH is a NICE board!

As far as procs, I would also wait and honestly if money is any kind of issue, I wouldn't spend it on the e6600, the performance over the e6400 just really isn't worth that jump in cost *yet anyways*

my x1900xt was 278 last summer!!!! this is a TRUE xt(512mb) and can acctualy do toxic clocks no problem!!!! (675/80) at stock core and mem volts, not bad if you ask me ^^

specly with the vf900 cooler im using ^^.

i can get around 2.8gz on stock volts on this m2n-sli delux and 3500+(2.2gz@2.8 stock volts) gotta up it a bit to get 2.9, but hey, it was cheap and outperforms a pentium4/pentium-d for gaming ;)

would love 4gb of that gskill ram tho :D

i have 2gb ocz 533 stuff you mentioned and 1gb samsung 533, all running at 700something clocks^^(plenty for amd since a64 chips are more sencitive to latancy then bandwith!!!)
