What will be your next ATI graphics card?

I just want a good F@H client for ATi. If there was one I would have a 5870 already. Folding with my current 4890 results in lots of strange noises like my card is screaming at me to stop. I would love to see a 5890 card with more memory bandwith. Other wise I'll probablly be going with a couple 5850's.

I figured that by time I get settled down again in a year the 6870x2 will be out or by then the GTX395 will be out by then :laugh:

Who know but got to skip ATI's new 5 series card. :ohwell:

I will probably be getting a 5870 if I can afford it in the near future. I kind of want to set up eyefinity and also have a good GPU, so it could also be one in the 5900 series.

My 4870 is kicking ass, no need to change. If anything, I'll get another one for xfire, but that most likely won't happen anytime soon.

the generation after hd5000 , you know ATI will re-configure the current architecture and make it more efficient and perhaps add more power

Don't need a new card - the 4850 does everything i need it to do with some room to spare. Maybe in a couple of years time i'll pick one up cheap, or whatever card is out at that point in time.

What you say makes sense. But I've never played with crossfire, and this would be a cheap way to do it. I also have a personal rule to never spend more than $200 on a video card. For this reason, I might even go with 2 5750's. Currently all the 58x0's are sold out, but that point is moot for me since I can't afford to buy anything right now.

Who knows what I'll eventually buy. I'm sure I'll change my mind.

Radeon 6870. Seriously I have decieded to skip the 5xxx generation and wait for the next wave. My 4890s do fine at the moment, and with me serving the military next year this wouldn't be a wise investment. And 6870 sounds better than 5870

I'm gonna go for 2 x Asus 5850 an get 'em tweaked up to 1ghz core each / aftermarket cooling, hopefully.
What nVidia does does'nt interest me after I my 8800gt 'bumpgate' edition died.

ATi will bring out something new as soon as nvidia try for crismass with there GT300 at twice the price of a ATI card of same power, HD5870x2 or higher is going to kill the compition.

Maybe the 5870 but more likely the 5900 but if i can i'll wait till the 68xx range is out. just depends on money and if i can wait or not.

I'm kinda waiting for the prices to take their first fall, which will probably be after Nvidia's releases, then I'm thinking either a 5770 or a 5850 depending on pricing at that point.

Really my 4850 is fast enough for any games I play, and most games I play it's massive overkill.
So to buy a new card, I need a good performance boost and equal to less power consumption.
