I'd get a better video card. <- I heavily recommend one of the new 5K series cards.

Everything else is fine, I'll be downgrading to a 720BE soon.

Your rig looks pretty good. Things I would improve are switching to Windows 7 (x64) which should feel faster than XP x64, while bringing DX10 compatibility for your current GPU and DX11 for ATI 5xxx and NVIDIA next-gen, and better compatibility in general (XP x64 kinda sucked for compatibility). Maybe after that, a new 5K series ATI video card, a much more spacious hard disk (which may also help improve performance due to higher density platters), and if you are going for a 5850 or 5870 I would recommend upgrading to a Phenom II X4 (I use a 955BE and it is pretty quick).

id say its a rather sound system only thing id upgrade is ur gpu, dnt get me wrong the 4850's are quite a beast, maybe a small one compared to the 5k series but id only upgrade it if either A you realy realy want dx11 or Byou feel its pulling you back on performance

For starters I would get a better aftermarket cooler for that x3 and get a nice oc on it. and aside from that maybe a GPU upgrade

it all depends what you do with it.

I have a 4850 and it is more than enough.

I dont see what type of monitor you have, but that will be my next upgrade before a 5k series radeon.

A 24" HP LP2475W is a very nice LCD, and probably going to be my next upgrade, before anything else.

Other than that, maybe aftermarket cooling for the cpu to keep temps and noise down, or if both of your HDD are IDE, maybe get a WD 640GB Black sata2, that would speed things up a bit.

Win7 x64 is good, but depends what you do, there arent really any dx 11 games and then you would need a dx11 card.

Nice rig, my suggestion though would be a nice 24" lcd monitor, and not a TN panel.

Edit: ya 32" dynex tv, um ya, I suppose the resolution is 1366x768 if its this model Dynex 32" LCD HDTV** (DX-L32-10C), which ya I would definately replace with a 24" LCD monitor for sure, a 5k radeon series on that display would be a waste of cash.

As for cpu cooling I have a noctua NH-12UP, and its build quality is excellent and so is its cooling ability.

Uhh... Wall o' text... *Checks System Specs*

Upgrade the GPU. Maybe a 5850, anything more (power wise) seems a little unnecessary at this point.

No, you cannot CrossFire 4 series with 5 series cards. Only running 720p, you don't need CrossFire anyways.

fyi?

a cheap SSD as a boot drive. Mine along with my low end T3400 CFU on my laptop loads windows 7 in just 16 seconds :) (Including the BIOS part).

You won't regret it.
