I have shotcut but it has a performance and crash bugs happens often on windows 10 after heavy use tho using latest version as of 9/27/21.
I could pay 100$ if need be just need some recomendations, I would rather save that 100$ aka Sony vegas if that's a good option or maybe the cyberlink power director app tho don't feel like I'm gonna like it.
I heard of another one that works well on linux like shotcut but I forgot its name.
need this for windows 10

I use Movie Studio Platinum 17 from Magix who bought the Vegas line of software from Sony.
It works perfectly and you can pick up version 18 for almost half price at the moment.
I'm not affiliated to Magix by the way.

Depends on what you use it for and what features you need.
Have you looked at Davinci Resolve? It's free so no harm in trying.
I personally use Power Director the little editing I do, which is 99% of the time just trimming. Reason was that many years ago it was the only software I found that correctly and easily handled the editing of high framerate videos without fuffing around when changing playback speeds. Ie. it was just simple.
That being said, upside with the larger stuff (like Vegas or Resolve) is that from popularity comes better support, community and third party tools.
