I don't know why reviewers do that. 4K is still only a little over 2% adoption rate according to the Steam Hardware Survey. A few sites are already putting up articles about 8K. That has the same number of pixels as 16 1080p monitors.

It's called marketing. Pushing people to buy things they don't actually need or will use at it's full potential at the time of release. The early adopters become the beta testers.
The same thing happened when LCD/Plasma TVs at 1080p were being marketed when most networks were broadcasting at 480p and some at 720p.

4K120hz OLED TV, this is the way. Even the best 1440p UltraWide screen doesn't hold a candle to the 4K120hz LG OLED TV.

LG CX48, so 3840x2160 @ 120Hz, but I've set a custom res of 3840x1620@120Hz since I prefer 21:9 and it gives me a bit of a boost in FPS in games compared to full 4K.
