What's the story with the TU106 1650s?

They're some cards in the database that are listed as having a "smaller" version of the TU106 chip. (For example: https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/evga-gtx-1650-sc-ultra-gddr6.b7752)

Googling/Binging for the model names and numbers doesn't really turn up much besides the listing here on this database, and some shifty articles about the GALAX GTX 1650 Ultra.

No places actually selling the cards from what I can find, but the listing on the database says they were released June 18th of this year?

Anyone know more of the story? Thanks.

There's an EVGA card with the same name as the one listed with that chip, but a different model number: https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=04G-P4-1257-KR

The one on the database with a TU106 has model number 04G-P4-1457-KR. The one on the website has model number 04G-P4-1257-KR. But they're both called "GTX 1650 SC ULTRA DDR 6."

Galax does not even have physical address.
Even so there is marketing traces at India, Africa, Brazil.
Stay safe by looking at ASUS camp and warranty plans.

Yea I'm not really a fan of them marketing these as some "Ultra" SKU when by the official tech specs are identical config to a normal 1650 GDDR6... except for the video encoder maybe?

There's a chance they might overclock better than a normal TU117 1650 but it is so ridiculously cut down what's the point? 896 out of 2304 shaders? 56 out of 144 TMUs? 32 out of 64 ROPs?

There is more of this card disabled than what actually runs!

... What? They're headquartered in Kowloon Bay, Hong Kong. They've been an OEM partner with nVidia since 2003 and were previously an OEM for design and logic analysis equipment starting in 1994.

Since ASUS dumped Pegatron and switched to outside manufacturing sources Galaxy Tech is actually one of if not the largest GPU board supplier in Asia. They're ridiculously huge.

They did not answer my message in their contacts form for over 12 days.
Their web-page this is dead-end for other communication paths, not any verified physical address.

I am European, according to their behavior they are DEAD to me, I will not trust to them even a single Euro cent.

This is telling and valuable. If customer service is lacking, thats a big fat minus 100. 12 days however.. dont fotget we are in a bit of a crisis. But still: selling recent product and not answering the phone is bad news.

Sound alike every telephone call and email I have made to Asus in last 8 years. Premium support for high end board still required 3.5 months for them to a replace a board .... the 1st one the sent as bent like banana ... sent that back and it took them 3 months to figure out how to get me a replacement for a replacements ... All TS and RMA emails came from pegatron.com. I asked on their forms why the parent company of ASrock was handling TS for Asus,... no answer and the questions were deleted.

I called and emailed tham 6+ times each on a hi end router (AC-5300). trying to set up a USB printer as a network printer, thru the routers USB port, they keep sending me identically worded email response emails ... telling me 'how to get onn the internet". You would thing that the fact that I am emailing them, would be indicative that I have no problem with the internet. They want me to wipe all my custom settings, reboot, sent them some files so they can tell me "how to get on the internet". each email is the exact same text, except that each email is signed with a different 1st name.

They have a "contact the president" contact line, which I emailed and called compaling that Im am trying to get a prnter to work and everyone keeps answering my inquiries with instructions for a problem i don't have. They send it to 2nd level support which resulted in the same bot-mail.

In Europe we don´t get Galax products but their sisterbrand KFA² since I think Pascal. Physically they are 1:1 the same products only whith a different branding on the box and cooler

In Europe we may not trust any more fancy pictures of dragons over VGA carton boxes, as we did when we were kids.
I am not hiding it, I got of my electronics lab cave in a research of the finest made GTX 1660 Super.
And at this specific period of time ASUS made the trick. https://www.ittsb.eu/forum/index.php?topic=1598.0

I am now 90% convinced that my choice this equipped with advance cooling system, this will offer to me a minimum of eight trouble free years.

About the Chinese brands, if they though that Europe this is another China-town which this aloud them selling goods in to baskets and never see the customer again, this is not our way of doing business.
Additionally I think that many of these companies in Asia they did fired their workers, and all that there is down there, this is empty offices.
