What's up with Windows Time?

I can't get Windows TIme to sync for shit. I've got no firewall running at all, and I've even tried plugging my computer directly to the modem, bypassing the router. It won't sync, no matter what I try.

disable the sync, restart. Check time in BIOS. Then go back in to windows and enable sync, and give it a few minutes. This (loss of time sync ability) happens from time to time for me too (but only on my Surface).

Verified that the date is correct and the time zone? Windows 10 doesn't ask the time zone during setup--it assumes Pacific.

NTP is designed to error if the date is wrong.

Have you tried a different time server?
Sometimes I had trouble syncing with microsoft server, but time.nist.gov always works.
