on topic: recent tech purchase is an electric blanket from Serta brand. it's best tech purchase of my life. Made winter bearable, and it costs pennies to power it.
sounds comfy. And you can turn off or lower heating in your bedroom so that's money well spent.

FC140 does beat out the AK620
interesting, I didn't know that. I'm wondering if the 140mm fan has anything to do with the better performance, or if it's the heatsink design. I'm not overclocking so the AK620 is more than enough. Another bonus is that it's the de facto most beautiful CPU cooler I've ever seen, but it's a matter of taste of course.

that is exactly what I do actually, I turn heat off a lot of times, and use my electric blanket, and it has an auto timer shut off so when I fall asleep with it on, I don't get overheated, and sleep better throughout the night

at end of day the three top big heatsinks we are talking about are like 1 or 2 degrees within each other, so it doesn't matter. I like the AK120 design better, I was set on getting the Scythe Fuma 2 rev b actually, but they were sold out, and this FC140 just happened to be on sale for $40 for only like 6 more hours, so I just went for it. it's been a good experience. my old single tower air coolers I have had used horrible fan clipping mechanisms, it was a pain to get the fans clipped in, but this one was a much nicer experience. reminded me of NH-D14 I had years ago, and which I regretted selling.

What does it feel like to walk on them? Does it feel like air or just regular shoes? Do you have more bounce?
You feel the air when walking, they're really very comfortable, yeah kind of bouncing haha..

They are a little tougher to get my feet in and sit a bit tighter though compared to my other nikes but there's alot feet support.

I tried some Adidas "Bounce" technology shoes one time, I was shocked, it felt like walking was a bit easier than normal, like it gave me a spring in my step. It had curved bottom sole, and I assume air in the middle. lol

Unfortunately my feet got a little too big for them. It is interesting tech. Like those one running shoes are banned from the Olympics because they actually do make you faster... I'd like a pair of those... lol

LOL didn't know that, just googled running shoes banned from olympics:

Nike Vaporfly shoe
The Vaporfly series has a new technological composition that has revolutionized long-distance running since studies have shown that these shoes can improve run times up to 4.2%. The composition of the sole contains a foamy material, Pebax, that Nike has altered and now calls it ZoomX.

o_O

I got a pair of regular Nike Zoom (non X) shoes as well.

"The Nike ZoomX midsole delivers 85% energy return, the greatest of any Nike foam, to give you a propulsive feeling as you move forward"

honestly if I ever take up jogging or running, I am going to buy me a pair of those. might help my endurance some.

edit: $150. not as expensive as I was expecting.

Had a longer arguement with myself but I have done it...

My plan is to use AMD's onboard graphics for week days and weeks where I don't game and then when I need the horse power my graphics will be right at hand.

I bought a Displayport to HDMI cable on Shopee (the Southeast Asian analogue to Amazon, Newegg etc, those two sites aren't really a thing here) so I can connect my monitor which only has HDMI and D-Sub ports to my graphics card that has 3 DP and 1 HDMI port (you know, just in case the HDMI port craps itself again).

Thing is, the seller claims to be from East Malaysia (where I live), but I checked my order, it's delivering from West Malaysia (separated from where I am by a sea, look it up in a map). I feel so misled right now. Shame on them. At least the thing's on its way to me right now.

Not a bad deal considering. I am a member of the Komplett Club and I just checked I could get another 10% off and I always get free shipping.

I don't see the Komplett club now that I was visiting my dad from the komplett.dk so maybe it's a no only thing.

Either way I am happy with the savings and really excited to test my Noctua NH-D15 chromax black on my AMD Ryzen 7700 non-X and yes I took the non-X because it's 65watt rating and the small about 4% performance difference won't be noted that much anyway.

It has buttons, so it's tech right?

have you ever gone to a specialist foot doctor to make you a custom mold of your feet and doctor prescribed custom made shoes? my mom had this done, similar problem as yours, but possibly not the same exact thing and it changed her life.

yep 1080p at 14" - 17.3" looks amazing. these companies are so dumb when they throw higher rez on laptops, causes throttling, overheating, games can't do nearly as well regardless of your hardware inside the laptop. they just don't get it.

glad you are enjoying yours

and I 100% agree on the screen, sometimes when i game on my 17.3" 1080p im still blown away, it just grew on me over the years. high pixel density, without having the added cost of hurting frames

my dream laptop would be a 17.3" 1080p 240hz rtx 4060 or 4070 with 13th gen intel - at a decent price of like $1299

but we won't get that, they will keep putting QHD screens on them, hindering fps. if you switch to 1080p it looks all funky. useless companies

have you ever gone to a specialist foot doctor to make you a custom mold of your feet and doctor prescribed custom made shoes? my mom had this done, similar problem as yours, but possibly not the same exact thing and it changed her life.
Yes and no, that type doesnt help but i do get the gel inserts for regular shoes that do help

Fully agree. My 15" laptops 768p isnt great, but hey its 4th gen intel and a touchscreen - 1080p at that size looks pretty good.

4K laptop screens for example need to be designed with a really good scaler for 1080p signals at a hardware level, to be fully useful - otherwise 3D programs are just stuffed (They're clearly made with say 200% DPI scaling for 2D content)

My 14inch Dell got a 1440p touchscreen and it looks beautiful in 14inch so I won't change it because it also gives a good battery life which the 4K panel don't and the 1080p should give some more than mine if it's optimazed correctly.

well my comment was in relation to high refresh rate gaming laptop experiences. your use case sounds different, work/education/casual use I assume.

I used to have a 8th gen Intel 768p laptop for work, and I am surprised how well it could run World of Warcraft. lol it didn't look horrible either at 14". I wish I still had it. def not as good as my 17.3" 1080p screen though. the experience is def better on that screen.

Not sure what is happening to the Blues. The Amazon page suggests that it is being replaced with the DRAMless SA510 (big yikes), but it doesn't look like the SA510 has any 2TB/4TB SKU......yet. The SA510 has its own sticker, but there is a new sticker for the Blue 3D too (at least the 2TB).

Blue 3D disappeared from the branding, but at least the product number still checks out as being Blue 3D.

Well, at least the shift to DRAMless SATA came with a clear branding change, I guess, so it's not ADATA-level bait and switch
