I'm waiting for the T30 140s, would be nice to part ways with my Nocs :)

I am hoping I can snap a T30 into the back of my case like a TY/TL series fan.
I think the M25 is the 140mm variant of the T30, if I'm not mistaken.

Maybe marketing differences?

M25 120 and 140 are T30-inspired so clearly a newer fan than MP (daisy chain, same corner pads, some frame similarities), but from the materials, hub design and blade geometry is pretty clearly not the T30-140.

Got one of these for my M.2 that was cooking directly under my GPU. The other M.2 is in a slot with a built in heatsink from the mobo.

I'm a big fan of my currently owned G502 Hero but had a few repetitive recent minor hickups with the right mouse button playing up. Caused havoc whilst aiming in FPS titles. When the problem occurs i have to result to some light banging around on the mouse pad, blowing through the front crevices and even using the vacuum cleaner to get it up and running again. Probably dust/etc making poor contact at times. Although its working fine again I did check online for a full clean up disassembly right down to the trigger mechanism but the whole process seemed a little too time consuming...

soooo....thought i'd grab something else to put to use and then at my own pace work on the G502 clean up.... hence: ~RAZER BASILISK V3. Got it today through the post and only 2-3 hours in, already falling in love with it. Love the feel/grip, incy wincy bit smoother and improved scroll wheel functionality. It does feel a tiny bit smaller in the palm than the G502 but no biggie, as always, we adapt to the new norm.

kinda digging the RGB lighting at the base too... looks like its floating in person. Although as with all things RGB nowadays, the appeal slowly washes away (might end up turning it off).

I bought a pair of Redragon M602's, one black, one white. Nothing but joy from these mice!
Amazon Canada should also have them.

Years ago i had the reddragon cobra for a similar price, ~£20 (GBP). I thought it was gonna be schite but lo and behold it kicked a-s-s in every possible way. I'm surprised they're still selling newer models for around the same price with most likely added feature/further enhancements. Problem with me is, im a mouse-banger lol so i end up changing the mice more often than i should.

Genuine JDM: adds 15ft of range

My most recent purchases:

-ATX skeletal chassis. ~$18 Shipped

A. Test Bench use B. Prospective 'base chassis/insert' for a DIY 'portable' rugged workstation.

-PCIe x4 3.0 to Dual M.2 NVMe - ASM2812 PCIe 3.0 Switch. $~55 shipped

Probably will use with the 2 960GB Samsung drives in an eventual ''Home Server" build I have semi-planned.

-(second) Solidigm P41 Plus 2TB Gen4 NVMe M.2 ~$95+tax+shipping

(so i can retire/reuse my 2 Samsung 960GB 22110 M.2s)

-PCIe4.0 x16->x4(m.2),x4(m.2), x8(slot). ~$33 shipped

2x Gen4 Solidgm P41 Plus(s) will go in it along with a Gen3 'WX9100' slotted in via flex Riser.
Still haven't figured out how I'm gonna mount the GPU tho. (no native vert. GPU mount in my case)

-Ryzen 5 4600G. ~$95+tax+shipping.

For my Dad's 'new' build. I was trying to find a ~$50 used video card of decent longevity and capability, to pair with my old R5 3600 and A320M-K.
(I'd almost bought a used WX 3100 4GB (~RX550) for $47.77).
However, ~$50 more got him a brand new CPU and opened up the x16 slot for prospective future use. Also, the purchase prevented: "wait... Son, why can't I use those ports on my motherboard?" Plus, I can re-sell the 3600, or hang onto it as an excuse to pick up yet another AM4 mobo and RAM.

^^took me a couple of sec. What is so unclear about car battery and car key battery:)
Looks like I'm not the only one that's pondered if a 'battery' of 4S ###P 3V coincells would start a car. Since I've seen it done more than once using Alkalines, I have little doubt it'd 'work'...
but why???

I guess that one scene from Breaking Bad where the main characters had to build a battery to recharge their RV, stuck with me.

Just ordered 10-Phanteks T30-120 fans.

Screenshot 2023-03-05 200747.png

I have a mix-match of fans in chassis now, they are all a few years old from other builds in the past,.. once a week one of these fans will be running at 78 RPM and will need unplugged, and plugged back in to spin up to match the others.

Did some research and decided to go with all new fans. https://www.techpowerup.com/review/phanteks-t30-120-fan/

I liked the Phanteks T30 series, the daisy-chain option for wiring three fans together, having all new fans will be nice.

Game any good?

Could be the deciding factor for me between 4080 or 90.

Cheers.

Edit: Playing with RT on or just Raster?
Yeah, RT on. Only things I have off are motion blur and chromatic aberration. DLSS is set to quality and frame generation is on. I hover right around 120 fps. I really enjoyed the game, played through it and I plan to again with the new setup. :toast:

You think ill get away with a 4080 on 3440 x 1440?

Happy with around 100fps give or take if you think its possible.

Cheers.

With RT on a 4080 will be under 100 fps but I would think above 60 for sure. I made a quick 4k video of it, FPS is in the upper left and the recording eats about 15-20 fps.

I would just keep ray tracing off and get more frames personally. DLSS3 and frame generation and no ray tracing... ultra to high settings - and max out your frame rate.

most games you can't even tell the difference going from ultra to high, but the smoothness in game you can tell a difference. with my 6800 XT i turn down most settings to medium to high. like in God of War for example, I don't need a 7900 XTX to enjoy that game at 165 fps 1440p, turns out a 6800 xt can do it just fine, and honestly you can't tell much difference over Ultra.

No reason other than hitting a CPU limit to disable RT imo. Especially with DLSS games, I've seen some games where in benches the 4080 seems to hit somekinda limit at 4k that widens the gap unexpectedly, perhaps due to the 256bit bus, so dunno if that applies to UW1440. I could also make the argument that with a 4090 you dont even need DLSS at 1440p to get good RT perfomance that is more likely in many games to hit CPU limits rather than GPU ones.. The real question is just how much does your wallet scream at the sight of that 4090 price?:twitch:

No reason other than hitting a CPU limit to disable RT imo. Especially with DLSS games, I've seen some games where in benches the 4080 seems to hit somekinda limit at 4k that widens the gap unexpectedly, perhaps due to the 256bit bus, so dunno if that applies to UW1440. I could also make the argument that with a 4090 you dont even need DLSS at 1440p to get good RT perfomance that is more likely in many games to hit CPU limits rather than GPU ones.. The real question is just how much does your wallet scream at the sight of that 4090 price?:twitch:

Even though the 4090 isn't good from a value perspective the 4080 to me is much worse and due to how much it's cut down it may not age as well especially at higher resolutions similar to how the 3080 10G is starting to struggle in some games at 4k. Right now they are 30% ish apart when averaged out but in some games the difference is much larger.

I'd happily pay 30% more for a 4090 even for 1440p. The 4080 would need to be at least 40% cheaper to be considered for one of my systems.

If I was dead set on a 4080 or just couldn't spend more than 1200 usd for a gpu for some reason I would go a dime over the Founders edition MSRP of 1200 usd or equivalent in whatever region I was purchasing it in.

My 3080ti at it's 1399 msrp was/is probably the worst card for the price I've ever purchased but even it was much closer in perfomance to the flagship 3090 at the time basically identical... Spending over 1000 usd an not getting a flagship card just feels bad at least to me.

Oh yeah and im positive that gap will grow larger with future games and even faster CPUs in the mix for sure. Maybe just a couple of % points but i do feel confident it will (my only real indicator being my own 5900x experience with it). For w/e its worth i also saw 2 games manage to exceed 16gb with framegen (the new inductee in the vram hog hall of fame) so theres also that. (those being W3 and Forspoken and not all the time just sporadically now and then - w3 got up to 18.5gb one time actually with some extra npc texture mods mind you, there was another game i saw get close tho not exceed but i dont recall which one or whether it had framegen lol).

How do you rate the feeling of the build and of the usage of the Basilisk, against the G502? I'm looking to buy one of these in the unforeseeable future due to my Hero stressing me just like yours was (and that's because I already opened it once to swap the left clicker, now it is the right one going rogue).

Just ordered 10-Phanteks T30-120 fans.

View attachment 286594
I have a mix-match of fans in chassis now, they are all a few years old from other builds in the past,.. once a week one of these fans will be running at 78 RPM and will need unplugged, and plugged back in to spin up to match the others.

Did some research and decided to go with all new fans. https://www.techpowerup.com/review/phanteks-t30-120-fan/

I liked the Phanteks T30 series, the daisy-chain option for wiring three fans together, having all new fans will be nice.
$300 in fans? Jesus.
