Actually, we compost and so hardly use the unit (I'm originally from the UK); but the old one cracked open so needed replacing.

Since I don't want to have to replace it again, I went with a unit that has stainless steel internals.

Good fraking grief!! $4500?!? Those things had best be made of gold!

lol and i was struggling to justify picking up a ~£150 wireless headset over a wired one for a mere £70 difference. Yep ended up going with a looooong cable to add to the spaghetti clutter. Could do with some of that gold!

I bought WD Elements 20TB external HDD on eBay several weeks ago. It was DOA. :( It was advertised as New, but the seals on the box were broken. Apparently, the seller had tested it and knew that it was not being detected in Windows.

MCG Ultimate is an absolute beast of a stick, the pictures and reviews don't do it justice. Gotta hold it in your hands to appreciate it

SCG Kosmosima: [good] plastic body, plastic mount, 210g
MCG Ultimate: solid aluminium body, aluminium mount, 600g

The controls are more damped and feel really good. The brake lever is amazing. Running #40 and #10 springs right now, looking forward to dialing everything in.

*raising my index* (no, not the middle finger... ) carbon and carbon nanotubes, sooooo technically ... diamonds? (and MRI ANC headphone R&D )

STAXs flagship, which also need something to drive them adding to the total cost ;) (which is still cheaper than what VSG used for the Audeze CRBN review, about half the price)

My friends in the UK/Europe find it really shocking so many of us Americans use garbage disposals like this. I know my gf/fiance in the UK composts all of her bio waste, so if I ate a banana, sometimes I would almost throw it away and she would be like wtf! haha jk but yeah I learned to compost, I got used it after about three weeks.

it's honestly quite funny how easy the brain adapts to new methods of doing things.
In the UK, most homes are provided with bio-degradable bags for food waste, which are placed in their own garbage can to be collected with the other recyclables every week.
That way, even food waste from homes without gardens gets composted.

I've come to the conclusion that retailers require a minimum box size, to stop items being "lost in transit" or even on the shelves.
nope because any product will be put together within another bigger box.

That's my point. A minimum package size.
For example, I received Cablemod's 12HVPWR angled adaptor last week.
  1. Cablemod packed the relatively tiny adaptor in a foam-lined box a little smaller than a pack of cigarettes.
  2. Which was placed in a bubblewrap envelope big enough for a 120mm fan.
  3. That was shipped in a box around the size of a 5.25" Bluray drive.
  4. That in turn was put in a plastic courier bag big enough to take a week's laundry.
All so the tiny adaptor I ordered wouldn't get lost on the courier's van.

Can you give me an example what you will use this for? I don't understand

measuring things? ... no?

but what kinds of things to what purpose?

My small peepee

Mainly bearings for wheel hubs and bicycle tyres.

Though at the moment I want to upgrade some of the bearings in a fishing reel and nobody here sells upgrade kits so I would have to import them. Kits are overpriced to begin with and i'd end up paying import duty on it anyway so its easier for me to measure the bearings when i dismantle my reel and order them individually from a UK seller - a lot lot cheaper.

otherwise its still a handy tool to have. Its not a very expensive one to begin with. Its very very cheap.

i'm sort of looking to eventually be pretty self sufficient when it comes to bicycle maintenance. I'll eventually also have a bearing puller and more tools.

I don't think it's adapter because WD USB is detected in windows Task Manager, but the disk does not even spin up.

You cheeky bastard! Had me believing those were actually a thing until I remembered tomorrow is April 1st!

This came in the mail for me today. I caved, as I could no longer stand having to use my motherboard's rear USB ports for my headset and game controllers due to the board's front panel USB header being damaged and being out of warranty. It got old real quick.

Replacing the USB header is an option, but hard as a mother board has ground planes that take up heat.

ASRocks z590 OC Formula is in. I love this thing! So much to tinker. This is my third MB for this rig or this gen, lol. More carbon made its way over my psu as well. I still want to make a cover for the pump/block/tec from carbon, but its not easy to cut. If anyone has any suggestions, Im open to them. I need to make a cover for the front, top area as well. CNC cut maybe? Its just two pieces... but I have no knowledge of that caliber of tool.
