What are you cooling with that?
Both my main rig (sig rig) and a back-up rig. As I'm getting older and my back isn't what it used to be I decided to change from liquid cooling inside the case(s) to outside the case(s).

Edit: also to add while the Caselabs Mercury S8 is a roomy case it becomes cramped when you stuff it with three 360 rads and dual pumps. And the back-up rig is in a Cooler Master NR200p which is limited for custom liquid cooling. The other case is the Phanteks Eclipse G500A which isn't a light case even without hardware..

That is a very interesting solution! Very creative thinking, IMPO.

Bought last February:

Left shoe:
20230926_155027.jpg

Contacted Nike and they said, Nike shoes have a 2 year warranty so I got a refund...

Ordered custom shoes "Nike by you", if they also fail within 2 years I'll buy different shoes..

2year warranty. That impressive. Don't think I've ever bought a pair of Nike shoes in my life.

Like not even for sports?
I was less picky on cleats, but when it came to basketball shoes and lookin' cool for school man it was hard to beat Nikes.

The Jordan's and higher end ones for sure - I just had the regular ones w air bubbles in them etc.
Honorable mentions to Reebok Pumps and LA Gears for being reigning elementary school champs though lol.

Bought the Watercool PCI Slot Pass-Through Bracket to replace the all metal Koolance variant.

As I'm too tired I'll do the tubes tomorrow.

Nope. I was a Reebok and Adidas guy. Same level of quality, 2/3 the price. In high school I bought my own stuff because my parents either couldn't or wouldn't. I had to be value focused. Make no mistake though, I did not skimp on the Girbaud BrandX jeans. I had 6 pairs and they were awesome!

I hope it works out well for you. :)

I had a Silent Loop 2 280 mm to cool mine, but it was horrible (it worked with every other CPU I've had, just not the 7800X3D). I ended up swapping it for a Dark Rock 4 which works way better.

It's very good , i use it with Offset mounting & AM5 Contact Frame. rarely i'm go over 60C in games and like 78C in CB R23 (18.648 pct)

me too!!! Reebok and Adidas mostly. Not sure why i never landed Nike...

Used to love my light weight reebok back in the day for running. They just don't make them like that anymore... now its all thick padding and fat rubber. I've even had a couple of Converse pairs back in the day... actually back then anything you bought, affordable or expensive, lasted for ages. Nowadays the quality isn't there unless you're forking out for the pricier stuff and all the added-value professional sport infusion is just mehhh.

Best Nikes ive ever had were these....

1696460112471.png

Cant remember the year. Maybe 00's or 01's But i think these were the precursors to the shoes that later went on to become their 'TN' range of shoes. These shoes were absolutely awesome. Wore them until the heel was completely done and the ground was eating into the plastic/rubber of the air cushion.

I wanted another pair but they were super expensive in the UK and by the time I got a chance to go visit Hong Kong again where i bought the original pair. They had been replaced by 'TN's' which werent of the same build quality.

Some people may think they were ugly, but I absolutely loved them

Hey I still use a tape drive. No bashing.

I would love to go tape, but the cost/benefit just isn't there.

Re: shoes, best casual sneaks for me continue to be Vans, as long as one sticks with their actual skate shoes rather than the fashion stuff

To stay on topic, my latest not-entirely-necessary acquisitions:

The switch was supposed to finally get (almost) my entire home network to gigabit, but it seems like I've got a wireless router in the mix that's limited to 100-base.

Gigabyte GTX 1060 Windforce OC 3GB
Bought it on a marketplace for €45

I Installed it in my HP Z210 with i5-2400 CPU. Great improvement over the Intel HD Graphics

What is the lastest Windows 7 x64 driver for this videocard? I installed Display Driver 384.76 from Gigabyte website.
You should get at least 430.64, IIRC, due to a bug.

Slowly consing up my new gaming/development machine:
  • Have 128 GB unbuffered ECC DDR4
  • Asus prime x570
  • Blower-styke 2080ti (2 slots wide and loud)

Not sure yet on 5800x3d or 5950x and on cooler.

5950x and Phantom Spirit 120 arrived, only to discover that the mainboard seller had removed the HSF backplate. More waiting for shipping.

XFX really are one of the last remaining edgelord vendors of the PC world aren't they... lol

I'll give em a pass since my experience with them has been pretty decent. Besides, I get a chuckle out of it.

Water cooling pc components are made for the niche group of pc builders, I don’t know the % of the worlds pc using water cooling but I think it’s in the 0.01% total
