Got an Aukey portable, 65 W USB-PD battery pack, so I can charge my notebook away from a wall socket if need be. It doesn't quite seem to reach 65 W output, but it charged my notebook from 30% to full no problem, but not much juice left in the battery.

You got a link for these enclosures? I am a Orico fan have one of their docking stations and 2x3.5" enclosures they always work when you plug them in and do a awesome job even transfer speeds are amazing.
They are the only in Aluminium+ABS instead ABS only... i found on Amazon FR : it's called 2588C3(-V1), link lists also pink as i can view.

Aluminium is not listed in top page specs, it's at bottom specs only.

I'm building a new rig. Running on Wondows and Linux. It has to be fine for developing software on Lazarus ans Visual Studio. I started the sourcing a bit ago. The last i bought was the motherboard. It is a Asus ProArt X670E... Next there will be some stuff extending my EKWB Watercooling system.

I'm picking up my CPAP sleep apnea machine today, I guess that counts as a tech purchase.

Everyone I have talked to that has one prescribed by a Doctor has told me it improved their energy levels and memory retention/recall. I hope I get similar results. Doctor gave me a sleep study recently and said I need one.

✓ doesn't take two weeks to ship because Samsung is not a miser and free shipping = Fedex Overnight
✓ S23 is actually fast unlike a certain turd
✓ 8 Gen 2 doesn't get hot the moment you start doing anything
✓ already nearing 1hr SOT per 10% during setup phase and installing apps

Normally this is where I'd shit on oneUI for being bloated and not AOSP, but it actually comes with a bunch of useful features usually only found in custom ROMs, so Pixel's vacuous take on AOSP is just plain embarrassing

A friend asked me to clean and sell his old gaming rig with a 7700K in it. After a little search, I found an MSi B250M Mortar with an i5 7500 on ebay for 60 quid, so I'm gonna keep the board and my friend's 7700K, and sell his PC with the 7500 instead. The board is a little bent in one corner (see picture below), but it was listed as fully working, which I hope is true. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with it, yet - I'm thinking about downgrading my HTPC and selling the 11700 + B560M combo that I currently have. Or maybe I'll keep it as a backup in case something fails, we'll see. One thing is for sure: having an Intel 7700K and an AMD 7700X in my arsenal is so cool! :D

Looks good with the specs too, sadly I am not switching back to Android even the new Sony Xperia 1 Mark 5 looks interesting but with the national security apps we have in my country and such custom roms because they need rooted access is not working.

So I am staying on iOS because of my friends and some family just easier being in the same environment than in another one.

I wonder what the "Cool down 9%" logo means. :D

It was such a bizarre thing to put on the box so I had to look it up out of curiosity. 9% better heat dissipation due to the graphene heat spreader...... supposedly

i was considering 3 years of game pass ultimate with xbox live gold trick
apparently 12 months of xbox live gold once converted to game pass ultimate converts to 4 months now instead of 12 months.
well there goes that plan down the drain. looks like M$ finally changed it
thats what several reviews on Amazon are saying for xbox live gold 12 month anyway
if you sort reviews by most recent

so that was going to be my latest tech purchase... 3 years of xbox live gold converted to 3 years of pc game pass. but yeah not going to do it, not worth the risk of only getting 4 months. damn you M$

Yeah I know but I never have issues with temps on my M.2 drives. The motherboards I use come with their dedicated heatsinks for that anyway & the systems are always in well ventilated cases.

Does a car lighter usb plug count?? My wife stole my last one and my last one before that and my last one before that and lost them all. I’m thinking of painting some ‘male parts’ on this one so she doesn’t take it. :|

I fight that battle over USB cables. They disappear, then they get found in my wife's purse, then they get lost, then my wife asks me why she can't find any USB cables, then I have to hit the "order it again" button on Amazon. It's the circle of life.

7900 xt reference card. just ordered one.

got some medical news today, unfortunately I am not going anywhere this summer and have about 5 more medical appointments spread out over the summer.

so I said fuck it, you only live once. my 5800x3d and 7900 xt are going to be great pairing. game on mates! :rockout:

also, are all reference 7900's the same? so if one from sapphire or xfx is reference 7900 xt, is it any different at all from buying it from amd.com? bit confused by how that works. anyways, i ordered a reference one.

I was gonna say they have different stickers, but it seems like both MBA 7900 XT and XTX cards don't have any on them. So only different branding on the box, I guess.

Physically there shouldn't be any difference. Just that the product is then warrantied by the vendor instead of AMD store.

I don't recall there being a sticker on my XT MBA. Maybe there's one on the PCB under the backplate? Only the regulatory information printed on the PCIe bracket, but there's a spot on the PCB where a S/N sticker might go.

MBA cooler is not quite as stout at cooling and idle fan stop not as consistent, but a bit of case airflow directed at it (esp. bottom intakes) should help out massively. A bit of extra fan speed on a custom curve in Wattman also goes a long way :toast:

I was seriously looking at this this morning, I am torn between this and Miasma.
go for it! (or both ... Miasma seems interesting too ... it looks like Troubleshooter which is also a T-SRPG )

also tomorrow i receive a pair of beans in a jewel box ... (i'm sure a few will know what i mean ... )
aye!

here goes:
20230526_110932.jpg20230526_110944.jpg

all the good it can be[an] organic, low power requirement and DELICIOUS! can fix anything in a jiffy! errr.... in a chilli i mean ...

well ... i like the AKG sound signature, they are not bad as i thought in term of wearing ... they add some options to my S23 and they were in promo (35chf instead of the actual 65chf price, iirc at launch they were 149chf) can be a good alternative when i don't want, awesome sounding, borderline perfection, 80hrs+ autonomy, cans, that the Edifier Stax Spirit S3 are, on my head, plus they are quite discreet.

all the good it can be[an] organic, low power requirement and DELICIOUS! can fix anything in a jiffy! errr.... in a chilli i mean ...

well ... i like the AKG sound signature, they are not bad as i thought in term of wearing ... they add some options to my S23 and they were in promo (35chf instead of the actual 65chf price, iirc at launch they were 149chf) can be a good alternative when i don't want, awesome sounding, borderline perfection, 80hrs+ autonomy, cans, that the Edifier Stax Spirit S3 are, on my head, plus they are quite discreet.

I honestly had no idea what you meant "beans in a jewel box". Looking at the first picture, I started to wonder if it's serious, and what good a pair of beans can be. Now I get it.

Seriously though, AKG is good. I have a pair of earphones and headphones from them as well. I also bought a pair of relatively cheap Jlab Bluetooth "beans" not long ago, but they don't compare. Not to mention they drop connection intermittently, which is annoying. Nothing beats good old cable connections, imo. :)

Got a custom cut 20 W/mK thermal pad set for my GPU, considering repasting when I install with the new Conductonaut Extreme which is supposedly 30% better than the old Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut, if I can ever find it in stock.

I'll add a post with pictures and temperature results before/after when both arrive.
