The only game on that list I've played is Q2 RTX. I just bought Metro Exodus (first game I've bought in about a year) but I haven't played it yet because I'm running on 4GB of memory because my 32GB kit is in the shop.

How can COD:MW be part of this poll, and even be voted on? It was released in 2007!

The inclusion of Quake 2 RTX is also ridiculous, considering that apart from RT effects, the game hasn't changed a bit.

Also Resident Evil 2, WOW Classic... the gaming industry (and this poll) is in a very sorry state nowadays.

In my opinion, A Plague Tale: Innocence deserved to be in the poll, it was one of the best storytelling experiences of 2019.

I have a hard time choosing the best, this year there were 5 titles that stood out for me.

Resident Evil 2, Anno 1800, The Outer Worlds, A Plague Tale: Innocence and Metro Exodus.

I don't count RDR2 because I had already played it on the console a year ago.

Well, COD: MW (the first time it was COD 4: MW) and RE 2 are both extreme remasters and practically new games, especially for many younger generation people.

I certainly don’t think they rise to game of the year level though, no matter how well done RE2 was.

IMO the top two are A Plague Tale: Innocence, which didn’t even make the list despite some of the highest approval numbers ever (they obviously did something right), and Metro: Exodus.

RE2 without a doubt. And it's probably going to be RE3 next year, unless they port FF VII Remake to PC in 2020.

I only played Borderlands 3, The Outer Worlds, and Metro Exodus.

Borderlands 3 is like BL2 but bigger. It improves some of the core weapon mechanics that I dislike in BL2 such as the ability to switch modes in weapons so for example no more Dahl sniper rifle shooting in burst of three or five (very annoying because of small sniper ammo pool) and ability to switch elemental damage on Maliwan weapon.

The Outer Wolds feels like old Fallout 3/New Vegas but in outer space. Each maps feels too small though. I haven't finished it yet but I like dialog options in some quest where you can be good for both sides. Plus a healthy amount of side quest and companion quest to keep you busy.

Metro Exodus looks amazing and great single player campaign but I feel it was out of place because it plays outside of Metro tunnel, plus no more ammunitions for currency and being replaced with looting mechanics.

I don't know which one deserve the title Game of The Year this year. But if I have to make a decision I'll give it to Borderlands 3. IMO all the remakes (Quake II RTX, COD: MW) should be out of the list. I really dont have much time to play games because I'm currently relocating to new workplace some 400km away from old one.

Are you sure you don’t mean The Outer Worlds? It is near the end with 8.3% of the vote.

No, he's right the 'Outer Wilds' is indeed not on the list. I'm in the Outer Worlds doesn't belong in the running camp, even though it's worth it's asking price it doesn't feel like it goes beyond that it's very bland and not different as it was hyped out to be. I got much greater wow factor and enjoyment out of RE2, and that's a remake, a damn well made game that surprisingly nostalgia has f'all to do with.

My vote goes to Noita. Even though it's currently in Early Access.

Noita has been the most fun I've had with a PC game since Kingdom Come: Deliverance, which was my 2018 Game of the Year.

I am very offended that Fallout 76™ is not on this list. While the game came out and dazzled audiences in 2018, the new Nuclear Winter™ update is basically a full game on its own, surely deserving to be a top contender on this list. To make myself happier I am going to purchase multiple copies of Skyrim™ Game of the year Edition™ for PC and purchase lots of mods through the Creators Club™.

If we look at it that way, I want Black Mesa to be on the list! It's only a paid-for mod, but an excellent remake of a '99 game, and its latest update has just come out. I also want The Witcher 3 to be on it. It came out almost 5 years ago, but it's still the game that I play the most.

No Battlefield games? Squad? Then only one on the list I have interest in is Read Dead...I just haven't tried it yet.

I have been playing since the Return to Castle Wolfenstein days. Soldier of Fortune 2 Gold! Anyone remember that one?

That's actually one of the games I had considered picking up, but went with ARK after I experienced trouble getting Elite Dangerous setup and just said screw it and refunded it. I really don't regret that even though ARK isn't perfect and could use it's share of developer refinement to improve the quality of life of the game. It's still a overall interesting game.

Deep Rock Galactic is worth every penny if you like non-PVP, cooperative multiplayer.

I'll probably pick it up eventually sanctum 2 was actually rather good or at least what I played of it. Another cool part of that game is it's got a built in text chat speech synthesizer. Having fun with ARK thus far you can build all kinds of crazy stuff. I'm by no means a expert at it though at this stage placement isn't always very flexible though you seem to able to get around it if your creative enough about it.

Outer Worlds for sure... I have a lot of fun playing clunky open-world-ish RPGs with good writing... brings me back to that first time I wandered out of the sewer in Oblivion on my 7800gt and intel E4600 frankenrig.

While many feel you on that one, to be fair, it wasn't exactly a AAA title.
Quake 2 RTX is more of a tech demo / curiosity
WoW Classic is just a re-release
Call of Duty is a joke as a "new game"
... but at least they did not list FIFA *current year* on this list

No, it's a remake of a AAA title from yesteryear. And as more was done than just adding "RTX" to the engine, it is almost a new experience, one that many current players have never had. Additionally, it was one of the most downloaded titles of the year. It's inclution was warranted.
