been having this error lately. happend 8 times in the last 3 months.

its purely random.mainly when i game.

believe its related to the cpu overclock.maybe needs more voltage?

what do you all think.

WHEA errors on X58 are related to overclocking.

Internal parity error = insufficient CPU voltage
Cache Hierarchy Error = insufficient QPI/VTT voltage

Increase vcore and run Linpack Xtreme (the bootable version is better) for a few hours.

Just take small steps until you get the results you want. If you're at 1.30v now, try 1.325v. I had an i7 920 I could get to run stable at 4GHz once, but I don't remember the voltage... I just remember it was HOT. You have a 32nm chip though (the i7 920 is 45nm) so you may have better results.

0.01875v for instant crash
0.01250v when you're almost stable

I wouldn't go over 1.33v on ASUS P6T with LLC on air cooling for 24/7.

i just ran a stress test twice.
both times came back with a hardware failure detected.thus stopping the test.

vcore is at 1.33v

Probably CPU degredation over the years. Just need more voltage or back down on overclocking a bit.

Or never been stable in the first place... failures shouldn't occur that fast.

well i have tested cinebench and occt as we speak.
has always passed.

Cinebench is a benchmark and shouldn't be used to test OC stability.

Best tools to test stability on X58:

CPU stability = Linpack Xtreme (bootable version)
QPI/DRAM = Prime95 v26.6 large FFTs
QPI/IOH = Prime95 v26.6 blend + Luxmark
DDR = MemTest64

I suggest getting a cheap replacement with unlocked multiplier off eBay and meanwhile increase vcore to unsafe levels.

if your cooling can handle it go ahead and push it to 1.4v and see if all the errors go away. if they do then start backing the voltage off until they show back up. at this point just increase it a small bit to make it stable. your voltage is fine and the chip can handle it as long as the cooling is up to the task.

well the temps idle at about 36c and around 50c whilst gaming.
testing i have seen it hit around 85c.

going to order another tomorrow as they are only 20£ on ebay.-as back up
