Where do ati drivers go by default??

somehow 11.2 got installed on my pc, I did not install it. I've tried driver sweeper and driver cleaner both find NOTHING ati on my rig, yet somehow 11.2 is installed. im trying to manually find the files/folders and delete them so I can use the better 10.10E's but if i just install them over the 11.2's I get MAJOR issues. maybe there is a place that amd tells their drivers to hide?? im just stumped. i could leave it as is, but i cant install catalyst control center even without issues.

ATI? is no more it's AMD now...

By default, Windows puts the core driver files in C:\Windows (usually just the logfile here though); C:\Windows\system32 and C:\Windows\SysWOW64 (if running 64-bit).
You can get the details of the driver files from Device Manager

The other files can be found in the usual suspect's location(s) - which is what Driver Sweeper should find without issue.

already used driver sweeper, it shows no ati/amd drivers, also 11.4 dont work for my cards.

Are you using the latest version of driver sweeper 2.9.0?

If that's indeed the case, then he should be able to roll-back the drivers.

Plus, you can get rid of all the files you want, but if you don't clean up the registry entries... it could, also, lead to problems.

i shoulda stated, i went through the registries and deleted a bunch of strings as per Erockers thread showing step by step what to delet and from where. thanks mussles ill search the windows update files.

Try opening up Device Manager and double-click on the Display Driver. See what files correspond to the driver, uninstall the driver then (without restarting) delete the corresponding files. I did this in XP, don't know if it's applicable in your situation.

i meant thats where its installing from. go offline before you do any cleaning and stay offline til 10.10e are installed. then make sure winupdates arent set to install automatically.
